So I see Cupido is having a run for Blighty this weekend..... I'm guessing just an extra run before our season starts but we all know how these things pan out sometime's? Hopefully he hangs around & goes for another hundred for the season!

Out of interest who do we see being the big goal kickers for the year?? My early favourite is Jono Moore from Nagambie? I'm hearing abit of a role change for him this year..... 👍🏾

Does that have any bearing on player points when he returns to Girgarre?

Jono is sure to kick a bag mate I’m sure Millsy will sink a few but goes up the ground a bit Also no reason Cupido can’t kick 80 plus and don’t forget Murch- Tol James Lloyd he’ll get fed well in a good side

If he comes back
Had a mate at the game and said opportunities wise he went quite well kicking 3 out of 5 He’ll return to GIG mate at the end of the day why would Blighty go down that path a grand plus in a struggling side for most likely 1 season wouldn’t make sense

Because of an 8 last season they did , But doubt they’ll play finals this year But you must give credit where credits due he did kick 100 plus in only 7 wins pretty fair effort

Has rushy kicked the bucket yet?

What’s the go are they starting the season with seconds considering they can’t get 3rds or do they have to play the year in the seniors?
I've been told they have enough players for both the reserves and thirds, which is what was 'approved' by the league

He did kick 68 of those against tally, undera, rushy and Longwood though, but he should be the icing on top at his age for a side
What’s your best goal tally for a season/game ?
Me personally I wouldn’t be commenting on the goals, kicked against the lower sides if I hadn’t kicked a season total more myself 👍

My best is only 5 in a seniors game against Newbridge in 03 up against Tony Graham, I actually never kicked a goal against a really shit side, plenty of guys win goalkicking awards by filling their boots against the shit teams

Regardless of what you think, or the player is, it’s a far effort and it’s not his first 100, and hopefully not his last, you must agree

how many thirds teams are we going to have this year overall in the kd will be an intresting watch
Hearing a lot of sides are struggling to fill thirds yet again.
It’s not an ideal strategy for short term but I think some clubs may need to shift there focus to starting un10, 12, 14 programs.
If they can generate interest in those
Lower age brackets it’s only a 2/3 year issue as the un14s will be at thirds age after that time and the 10s/12s will flow through there 14s system.

My boys played against Murch last week and they are one club that is in a great position with juniors and have invested heavily in getting them up and running.

I continue to laugh at the suggestions that clubs who struggle getting thirds need to focus on lower age groups. Pretty sure all clubs are already doing that, and looking at all options for all junior age groups. As has been previously stated, some clubs just don't have the numbers no matter how hard they try and engage kids and their families.

I hope you enjoyed the laugh, but there are numerous KDFL clubs who didn’t have any junior pathway plan and some who have now only just realised they need to strip it right back and start again from the bottom up.

Gv clubs now have un10/12s so kids will be drawn away from minor league clubs even more especially if there is no stability in the completion or real investment in there programs.

I guess in years to come there will be a hand full of clubs in the area shut down so this may ease some pressure on numbers being stretched over so many sides.

Did they not have 'the pathway'... or not have the numbers to invest in those teams??? There's a difference.
