Be interesting to see how tally recruit under a coach like trigga, he’d surely bring a few to tally with him.

Blake fothergil too united I’ve heard big loss for Nag if true!

This is how it should be, great young district players progress up to the GV ranks. They'll do well and then return home in a few years with a few mates.

Not sure if you call it a loss when he’s going to better himself in a higher comp / standard . Personally I’d call it a loss if he went to another minor league for money , but that’s just my opinion .

All the best to him , Jono and young Nic Asquith who have all informed me and the club that they will be going to test themselves at GVFL level . Potentially 1-2 more to possibly explore also.

Nothing we can do or say if they’re bettering themselves because as we know the KDFL is stuck in a rut , where externally its known as a laughing stock .

What can be done to improve the standing of the KDL? We've got some great little clubs doing some solid work at present. I do wonder what can be done to improve the reputation of the league.

Why does it need to change??? Seems have a great place in the region. Not every league can be the pinnacle
Not suggesting that the KDL would ever aspire to be the pinnacle.

I do however like the idea that you can be actively involved as a player of either football or netball from 9 years old until 49 years old if you wanted to push for that long. Forming some strong connections with people from your own and other clubs.

Is there anything that you’d like to see improved Roota?

What’s that for that young mcCulifffe bloke. 4 clubs in 4 years now
Not a good look.
Ky,tongala,Stanhope now lanc . Footy is f..k.d

We can’t even get decent write ups in our local papers anymore , I’d like to see some effort into the social media stuff and pump up the BIG games . Sammy does a fabulous job but surely we can find a handful of others to give up their time to Review and recap each round to give him a chop out .

Pre season predictions , Running Goal Kicking tables and even after the siren scores of a Saturday .

Not asking for it to be the AFL but some little improvements will go a long way with just a little bit of extra effort .

I stumbled upon this page that gives a recent history of Senior ladder positions in the KDL. It's interesting reading to see the spread of finalist and how the league has evolved over time.

Game summaries and previews from people who are involved at the clubs or league followers would be good.

Sam does a great job in his role but the write ups just include the best from PlayHQ the week prior and rough idea of what the clubs need to do.

Something from inside club land or at least someone who watched the previous game or follows the league (even as a neutral) would be a start.

I know Sam will cross the road and come have a chat with me about a game he knows I have been at for info.

In my time as a coach I would just be proactive and shoot the Shepp News sports reporter a text message about our game so it was more than the results online. A quick break down of both sides and any highlights or milestones for either side but as we sucked a lot I could put a positive spin on a loss at times if a kid played well or if we won quarters against better sides.

I have found even with the radio so many people say we will keep you updated on results and after a couple of cans they end up forgetting to send through scores.

In regards to promoting the league, players and results a few people in the past have floated the idea of a Monday night round recap show either podcast or on the radio.
There is the Saturday morning show but sometimes it can be hard to tune into with volunteers and players preparing for game day.
The sticking point is 1 cost and 2 it would take buy in from coaches or players to actually engage in it to get the best info and reports for it to be creditable.

Many clubs and leagues opt to use their own social media to distribute information, where they can control the context and as a result of being burnt as such in the past .
Rightfully so IMO , as a biased article or two can significantly affect a persons reputation and life and the obligation for journalists to ensure a balanced story isn’t allows adhered .

Social media is the big one. KDFL severely lacks in that area.
Agree with all of this.

Yeah I agree with what you’ve said. I wasn’t trying to knock Sammy so hope it didn’t come across that way - I didn’t really think about club people putting their own spin on a write up of the game.

A Monday review show would be great. A Filmed podcast so it could be popped on Spotify, OneFM & also a video on Facebook… but again it’s finding the media people to contribute, club people to chip in, as well as league exec members too. But I reckon it has promise. So long as it could get enough reach to make it worth the dollars and time put in.

Chayse Thomson a massive get back at the swans, couple years at Seymour will have done him wonders, played some good footy this year. Will dominate next year 👍🏽 young Salmon handy as well. Hopefully they can get the Lawrence boys back!

Avola x 2
Hoystead
Caldow X 2
Ball

Who’s kicking their goals Ultra ?

Crnko will be the main target unless they have a key forward unannounced.
Lawrence boys would be helpful up front if there is any merit to Ultra’s comment.
Woods kicked 80+ in reserves, would be no older than 25
Arandt could play at FF if there was another ruckman recruited, maybe the idea behind the Jai Nash recruit from Nagambie.
A lot of KD teams rely on goals from mids
Wilson won Nagambie goal kicking with 27, followed by Fothergill with 24. Could ask the same question for the Lakers.
Tallygaroopna the same with no Arho.

Stanhope, Tally, Longwoo who I expected to be improvers have been awfully quiet.

A watch on Merrigum, in trouble.
