838 took Collingwood last night. Honestly, when you have Hawks and West Coke available this week, why would you try and be cute about this?

@sportingbetoz: 11,696 still alive in #AFL #LastManStanding. Looks like line selections (Rd 13 onwards) will sort some people out

Any idea last year how many were left after granny final??

About 11thou left now ??
I finished in 7th spot last year. I got knocked out the last week of the minor round when I had Carlton +7.5 against the Saints (Ratten's last game). I still have nightmares about it. Blues were 20 points up with just under 10 minutes to go but the Saints kicked the last 5 goals of the game :(

The $50k prize went off in the 2nd week of the finals. Only 2 people made it through to the 2nd week of the finals.

I thought the line line betting starts from round 12? I stand to be corrected if not true.

Hawks this week for me!

Did u get anything for finishing 7th??

Good effort !! U must have the blues for that last qtr effort....

I've gone for Carlton this week.

No

It is winner take all unless it is still tied after the grand final where the prizemoney will be split with the number of people remaining.

If you're down to the last 7, you can start hedging against the $50,000 though.... You should have put $5,000 on Saints (-7.5)....

Because everyone just has an extra 5 grand laying around? Then if they lose and say you are down to the last 4 you need to put 10 grand against your tip the following week (because if you have 5 grand just sitting there im sure you have 15). Say that loses, then you are in the final 2 or 3 and need to outlay at least another 20 grand that week to even make a slight profit (Presuming you have $35k just sitting there as we all do).

Then your tips wins again (bet loses) and the other 2 guys happen to win as well. Suddenly you are in a world of hurt.

Its not as easy as just chucking $5k on the saints to guarantee a profit...

Not sure if this question has been asked before but how on earth does anyone last 10 rounds in this comp then decide to pick massive outsiders like GWS (6) or Melbourne (3) in this round? Do Sportingbet just have dummy selections or are some people just that silly (or gutsy depending on your view)?

Um, well start with $500 then. Whatever. If you tip the last game of the round you will know exactly what your situation is going into that game. You can't lose if you know your bank.

There is also a rule - if everyone gets their tip wrong - everyone goes through to the next week. So if you back against your tip and by that stage of the round (last game) everyone else has got their tip wrong - THEN YOU REALLY CAN'T LOSE.

Either your tip gets up, you get the $50,000. Or your tip loses so you pocket a winning line bet and go through to the next round. This happened to me twice near the end of the year I played. I know what I'm talking about.
