We need him in the midfield alright. I didn't see Rosa or Priddis step up in a game were we basically had no Judd, Kerr or Cousins. Braunny was instramental in the midfield but needs to be supported. If next week we gain Fletcher we need him to step up BIG time and work well with Nicoski, Braun, Selwood, Rosa and Priddis to create something special.

Hunter was great on FRiday night, and if Hansen returns we need Ash to
boot a big, seriously. The UNIT needs to kick straight, his accuracy could've won us a week off. We need accuracy, consistancy, and to play hard at the footy. If we achieve those 3 things on Friday night than we can win.

GO THE MIGHTY EAGLES!

Been keeping an eye on this guy this season. You have got another star midfielder in the making here.

Also Reckon Hurn is going to be a gun.

How did you guys pick up these two? Via the draft I presume but which year and what picks? What about Priddis?

There is something to be said for your clubs eye for talented mid fielders or the ability to develop them. Who would you say is predominantly responsible for this? Worsfold or is it someone behind the scenes?

Priddis - 2005 rookie draft

Hurn - Pick 13 2005

LECRAS, Mark (Pick 37 2004) [WCE] Hard runner, works hard off-field and accumulates stats but routinely wastes / turns over his kicks. Doesn't hurt nearly enough for AFL. Reads play well but has poor vision and awareness.

HURN, Shannon (pick 13 2005) [WCE] "Big stage" player who gives the impression he has been biding time. Was my #1 for the 2005 draft for almost 2 years but it's now time to unwrap the pressy. O.P. (and corresponding ability to get and keep himself in top condition)

A real concern so may need to be handled delicately for some time (at less than optimum conditioning, as has been the case for some years). We made need to be patient in this respect as he probably won't hit the ground running but he is a definite talent. Balanced, smart, knows how to find the pill and regularly pin-points 50-60m passes.

Mark le Cras was pick 37 in the 2004 draft (our third piock after Stenglein, who we traded two picks for, and Rosa). Hurn was a first round pick (13 after we traded Daniel McConnell and pick 18 to the Kangaroos to get higher in the draft) and Priddis came from the rookie list after winning the Sandover medal in the WAFL.

Thanks guys your drafting/trading has been awesome!

The skill level of your young players is admired and is something the Crows lack. They seem to have a lot of time when they get the ball.

Good luck in the finals!

Definitely must have been working on his kick since he got to the Eagles then. Probably the best set shot at the eagles, and one of the best kicks now. I think LeCras is turning into the Eagles version of Van Berlo.

LeCras = God;)

Lol - they grew up together and were close mates throughout school, so that's probably a pretty good call :)

I initially was really confused about the bloke, as to whether or not i liked him... but after this season and watching his form and games latley, im on the LeCras bandwagon.. i love the bloke and how he plays footy. onya lecca!

damn - gone thru a timewarp again..
some of these posts come back to haunt you..

theres an image of Lecras i can never forget..ive mentioned it before, but it was towards end of 2007..the St.Kilda game at Telstra dome?..friday nite game..a nailbiter game, judds got groin problems,on the bench..last quarter..goal for goal..a few minutes left, eagles just in front, and in their forward 50..Priddis plays on after a whistle..gives away a 50m penalty..in a flash the saints have a goal and lead by a point or two..this is definitely the last bouncedown, clock ticking down,a minute left maybe..
Cox taps down, Priddis rips it out of the pack and handballs thru the pack to Cuzz, who runs a couple of steps and handballs it back across the pack to Lecras who takes off, shrugs aside a tackle and slots a goal..it was like grease lightning, clockwork perfect..in a matter of seconds (similar to the goodes goal in GF)..eagles in front, game over.
Thats when for me, Lecras became LeClass..even Benny looked back at him as if to say 'this guys good'..and i would love to see him around the midfield again.. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

LeCras, Waters and Butler (to a lesser extent) all should be starting in the midfield.

LeCras on a wing, Waters on ball and Butler rotating from HB to wing. Put Embley up forward, even give him a crack at FF mabye?? and A.Selwood down back on a small forward.

someone needs to youtube this.

lecca was excellent again yesterday. spent significant time in the middle and still booted four :thumbsu:

that kind of proves the thing about Lecras being an essential forward kpp, and not being moved into the middle!? - people thinking he wont kick goals,or our goals will dry up without him..it seemed to shoot that theory down in flames, plus he provides that much needed drive from the middle and generally accurate forward delivery..

heres hoping woosha sticks with that. cant believe its taken so long.got hams now adding forward pressure.

Played up the ground a fair bit and still kicked 4 goals. We should play him ala Didak, roaming HFF down to half back. Great skills and makes a great link player with the fast break from defense to attack.

Le Cras is being wasted playing deep forward, simple as that.:thumbsu:
