The Sweet FA was this morning rocked by the news that senior citizens the Roys were to be stripped of four premiership points for failing to lodge an official team sheet by the deadline in their Round Six match against the Coney Island Warriors, a move that has stunned the league who hold captain fitzroybowiedog in high esteem. "Fitzy" was actually seen drinking with both teams players last night late into the evening, perhaps contributing to his massive oversight.
League administrator The Filth Wizard had this to say:
"I'm quite frankly shocked to be standing here. However the rule amendments in the off season saw the 'high contact' misdemeanour of flat out neglecting to lodge a side by the deadline be punished with an instant four point penalty which will, sadly for the Roys players not in their leadership group, see them spiral down to the bottom of the table. This is an unfortunate black mark on the reputation of the otherwise lovable and dependable fitzroybowiedog".
Roys captain fitzroybowiedog, on hearing of this news, chose not to issue a full statement until fronting up to his teammates but was believed to have said:
More to come...

Ah bollocks.
