Did you even watch the incident. Lynch hit him in the chest/ribs, Aarts got him as he ran past and then he went down.

Read the post I was responding to - simply agreeing that a liver shot is highly disabling - I have no comment on Lynch's girlie effort.

D minus...must pay more attention.

One for the more mature campaigners but used to loathe the Western Bulldogs purely because of Liberatorre and Romero (for no apparent reason really, both good players though Libba was an annoying little prick who used to like a good eye-gouge). After that I couldn't stand Damien Hardwick the faux tough guy and Byron Pickett the filthy sniper - until they came to the Power and were instrumental in our 2004 flag when I quickly developed major man-crushes on both of them.

No current players I really dislike, although maybe De Goey. From the past Peter Burgoyne, Adam Hueskes, Micky O'Loughlin and Steven Milne stand out.

So getting whacked in the heart or ribs doesn't hurt??
Well it can hurt, but he was chasing Lynch within a second or two. Merrett got done for belting in the ribs only because he broke ribs, swinging your arm like he did happens all the time. He was dead unlucky that he got him right on a weak spot. But that is footy. All this carry on because he swung an arm (Lynch said it was an open hand and the camera angle doesn't help confirm or deny it) into a blokes chest.

Actually its lynch that's lucky its not yesteryear, he'd be properly smacked from pillar to post.
Do you remember football from yesteryear, Lynch's 'hit' wouldn't even have registered, it was barely a hit in today's football hence only a fine much less back then. Go and watch some old footage and then come back and tell me Lynch's hit was anything at all.

He would have been decked within minutes.

5 vs 3, it's 67% more. That's not insignificant.

And no, there's no comparison whatsoever. At certain points in his career (2004 and 2009), Nick Riewoldt was among the top five players in the AFL. He's the best CHF since Carey - only Jono Brown really comes close. Jack Riewoldt isn't even the best FF of his era - Franklin and Kennedy are in front of him.

He also has the wood on Jack for longevity - Riewoldt was playing good footy well into his 30s. Jack's been pretty ordinary since Lynch arrived in 2018.
And how much more is 3 v 0?

Jack was pretty ordinary in 2018? The year he won the B&F in a team that finished 1st? And kicked 5 of our 8 goals in the Prelim we got smashed in as our clear best player?

Then in 2019 he was injured for half the season. Came back and finished the year with 2, 2, 4, 3, 0 and 5 goals?
That includes 3 of our 7 goals in the first half of the grand final and a norm smith vote.

So when was he pretty ordinary again? When he was out injured? lmao

No one knew who Sam Collins was before this game, sells more newspapers and gets more clicks when they target a Richmond player...

Ahh the ol' nobody knows who Collins is chestnut....... Would be a bit embarrassing not knowing as he is a reasonable shot at All Australian this year.

Not sure what JD dropping a mark has to do with lynch's heroics (in many richmond supporters view) in rubbing a blokes face in the dirt or cheap punching players behind the play and a long way off the ball.
Just plain gutless really.
I’d rather lynch clip a few blokes every now and then just to let them know he’s there than shit his pants on the biggest stage.

Sorry, I meant 2019 and typo’d. And yes, GF aside he was ordinary in 2019.
He was pretty excellent in 2018, though.

I have never really hated Tom Lynch (Richmond). I kind of get the vibe when I look at him that nothing is going on in that head of his.

Joel Selwood I have always hated, mainly for the constant ducking. Never seen such an expert at milking an undeserved free from the umpires. Players like this ruin the spectacle of the game, will be glad when he has retired.

Dusty himself has given about 3 gut punches to opponents this year, there are a few gut punches each and every week dished out but you are telling me it’s because he pushed a guys face in the dirt and gave a love tap on the weekend and suddenly he is the most disliked player around? Toby green has kicked players in the face and eye racked last year but after one state game this year he was just a “good bloke that is misunderstood?” Please spare me, this is media driven and the simple minds in Joe public have fallen for it hook line and sinker.
State to me exactly where I claimed that Tom Lynch was suddenly "the most disliked player around". You won't be able to honestly do so, as I never made such a declaration. What I did express, is that he is promptly becoming one of the league's most loathsome individuals, on account of what is now, a series of examples of vile conduct on the playing field. The media's role in this ongoing saga, has been nothing more than a conduit for spectators to revisit replays of the events. They certainly haven't painted him as the villain by any means, nor are they attempting to assassinate his character. His actions are what are directly leading to the viewing public beginning to begrudge his character. Toby green has kicked players in the face and eye racked last year but after one state game this year he was just a “good bloke that is misunderstood?” This entire sentiment is null and void, as again, I never claimed to be of this point of view. Toby Greene's behaviour is completely unassociated with Tom Lynch's. Such assumptions really do reinforce that you shouldn't be referring to others as having "simple minds", when you can't even correctly paraphrase another poster's thoughts!!

I love this thread.:heart::heart: it's almost as good as the recent Rich v Gold sooks game day thread full of teary oppo foamers so angry Richmond won. The vast majority being the West coast sulkers and the Brisbane tears (aka bunnies, hey Mitch, you fortnite muppet :$:$:$ ) I love how you salty pricks are sooking about nearly every single tiger player now. The fear is very strong obviously as the season is beginning to wind up.

Poor Lynchy is now so feared by you little bitches that he's become enemy no. 1, and all because he chose very wisely and picked the best team available at the time of his well earnt change. (lol Collolwood) So I'm here to thank you sulks, as It really warms the cockles of my heart seeing the usual posters sooking up a storm as per usual, very similar to this time last year in fact (23 home games in succession blah blah blah lol):heart::heart: Lets all prey that history repeats itself just like last year. The joy would be so overwhelming. Thanks salties :thumbsu:
