Hahaha oh my, are we going to get a petition going? My mum has just rang every legends member she knows to gather data on what they got, seems a similar story all very unhappy with the seats they’ve got shoved in vs the amount they got charged, and even more unhappy when they see lower tier members paying less for M33 where our normal reserved seats are.
Lol if we do gather some hard (if not anecdotal!) evidence mum is going specifically in to training tomorrow to tell Eddie how appalling it is and how about instead of worrying about getting Victorians to join the magpie army how about he spends some time making sure those who are already IN the bloody army get what they pay for?

I'm a Club 5 member

Got P3 Row A. (category 4)

.. would have thought that the Ponsford end would have been first filled for the Priority One holders. Maybe it was... idk...

Yep I'm a Legends member I'm in M5 on Saturday, usually in N30 so that's a bit disappointing. Sounds like getting N reserve in the Ponsford Stand is harder than finding gold. Happy I'm there but would have loved to been in the Ponnie at least. Seems 'best available' is very subjective.

To be fair to the club ...

... pretty sure the seating categories were defined by Ticketek / AFL / MCC before it was even known that Collingwood was playing in the Grand Final.

The text message announcing “The ballot will be processed today, make sure you have funds in the account” was sent 10:00am Saturday, barely 12 hours after we knew we’d be in the GF and before it was known who we would be sharing the day with. It was very unlikely that the Club would have had sufficient time to sit down with Ticketek (+ AFL + MCC observing) and say “Righteo, on behalf of our members who got through the ballot, this is how we’re going to organize the seating allocation because we’re Collingwood and we’ve got this special arrangement going on with the Ponsford stand, and we don’t care that this is technically not our home game”

I know, but Ticketek, the AFL and the MCC know that EVERY club has its Priority 1/top tier ticket holders that under their membership agreements are guaranteed a grand final seat. How hard is it to allocate the bays behind the goals of WHATEVER side of thye ground for those priority 1 members? Considering the fact we are priority 1 and this guaranteed a seat regardless, why do we even need to enter this ridiculous and farcical ballot in the first place - they already know their contractual number of seats they are obligated to allocate for this segment of members, doesn’t anyone in the department that is responsible for this function have a common sense and logic chip in their brain to think hey why don’t we allocate seats in bays M2x to M3x to all member barcodes tagged as priority one etc, then the rest are in the ballot and get allocated as whatever random logic they’ve programmed into their database application?

But do the priority 1 members of all clubs prefer to sit behind the goals? Or is that just a Collingwood thing? (I don’t know)

They can’t assume that all Priority 1 members want to turn up to the GF and be happy to have their account deducted $$$ for a ticket they might not intend to use?

3 legend members and 1 club 5. Category 3, M31, J3-6.

Happy with that. With regard to allocating certain seats I think that is probably expecting too much. You may prefer to sit in a certain stand or near your H&A seats but how would they know. My expectation was I am guaranteed a spot at the GF. Didnt expepect more but hoped for seats I liked.

Just wondering why that would be. My reserved seats H&A are in different parts of the ground. In a GF I would expect the team allocations to be spread around the ground in bays rather that filling one part of the ground. One of the great things about footy is that opposition supporters can be lumped together in the same part of the ground.

Lol I wouldn’t see the point of paying $1K+ for a legends membership so that when your team does finally get in the GF and you get to use it you don’t actually then want it? (Yes ok emergencies/sickness aside but those generally aren’t planned in advance!)...hell one of the tickets I’ve bought is for my best friends husband who they live in Singapore he’s flying back just for the grand final so he can attend, he still pays his cat 5 membership every year even though they go once in a blue moon when they happen to fly back for a visit, just so he can get that GF seat in the event we get there.

Clearly I’m obviously expecting far too much it appears, I dunno I just expected that if you were supposed to be a priority one member and pay for the privilege it would give you - don’t care if it’s behind the Collingwood goals or up the other end behind the other goals or out on the wing somewhere - just a little bit better seats where the action is and so you’re amongst it for the astronomical price you’ve been charged relative to where it is, that’s all

I don’t blame you at all ...

... heck for what you must pay for 4 x Legends memberships + AFL Gold memberships + High category GF tickets, if I was in your position I’d be expecting seats in the coach’s box next to Bucks with white linen and silver service, a menu of Caviar, Lobster and jus de fromage, all washed down with Dom Perignon ‘61.

I’m just trying to think about how it could all turn out positive ... especially if we win.

2 x Legends members.
Category 1, N33, Row C.

My reserved seats are in N32.

Soon after the ballot my CC was charged $820 so I knew I had Cat1 tickets and was going to get decent seats. I was surprisingly shocked I got these.

At first I didn’t want to sound ungrateful but yeah the ticketing is terrible.

3 legends members charged category 4 and seated in Q53 row M!!!

Then for my two youngest sisters who are only home reserve seat members, charged restricted view, given Q53 row J!!!! Closer than us older siblings with legends memberships!!!

I know we legends members are only guaranteed a ticket, not a good ticket. But it is a slap in the face to get an ordinary seat after paying a premium year in year out.

Might be my memory failing but it felt like during the 2010 GF/replay , the m level of the 6 or 7 ponsford bays were wall to wall black and white, with a few odd ones here and there...

Certainly during a GF there will be a greater dispersion of fans, but IMO it's still better for the atmosphere to be have a disproportionate amount of the competing teams fans at either ends.

I'm an AFL Gold member and have a mate who is a legends member

He payed $360 without a choice of category or seat which I think is pretty crap from the club, has a wife who gets vertigo and has been given level 4 seating.

I payed $196 and got level 2

How can Legends members pay $800 and AFL members pay $600

I am somewhat resigned to this outrage now after reading about those poor West Coast members who got charged for their tickets via the ballot only to find there’s no goddamn flights available the entire week, unless they want to spend 3 days travelling and ridiculous expense from Perth to Melbourne via New Zealand or something outrageous.
Honestly this is a national disgrace what’s gone on here. #AFLGrandFail. There needs to be a royal commission into the systemic failures of providers in the industry and their fees for no service price gouging and orchestrated racketeering

I got M33 row FF. I’d rather sit in the Ponsford on level 4 instead of level 1.
