Port choked in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007, the last of which was by a staggering and HUMILIATING record-breaking 119-points. And in 2006 you were '12th and loving it' (which means you revel in mediocrity). So basically, Port Power have choked in nearly every single year this century.

Although i dont agree with the choke term as most people put it, i think we did in 01 to hawthorn, and can see how people would see we did in 02 and 03, i believe we were choked in a game, we didnt do it ourselves its the way Collingwood and Sydney play us.

But 05 and 07, you are kidding yourself.

Interesting how you never answer anything about 93, 05 and 06, just deflect and have a go at Port.

It’s not losing the Grand Final but it’s simply how they lost. They gave in after 5 mins and never looked back.

It’s the Grand Final FFS. They could have given a bit of a fight after half time. They got stage fright and that’s why it’s a choke.

Not that Geelong won (and they were the best side all year) but Port Power got stage fright and this is the true definition of the word choke.

It’s the Grand Final FFS. They could have given a bit of a fight after half time. They got stage fright and that’s why it’s a choke.

Port 2007 remind me of Norwood 1993. The Legs were so stoked by beating Port in the prelim (no bows though IIR) that they had already played their grand final. Norwood were a young side and the Eagles were cherry ripe. Both of the losing sides were simply blown away. Nope, no choke there.

Port Power - This Century's Self-Humiliation Experts

First off. Congratulations to Port Power for winning the 2004 flag. But their supporters must surely admit that apart from that single year when Brisbane fielded half a side, there has been nothing but a series of embarrassing humiliations this century.

Let's consider the following list of humiliations that they've suffered:

• The first top-4 team under the new finals system to exit in straight sets in 2001. Humiliation rating 6/10
• Finish minor-premiers in 2002 but choke and humiliate themselves in the qualifying final and fail to make the Grand Final. Humiliation rating 7/10
• Finish minor-premiers again in 2003 but again choke and humiliate themselves in the qualifying final and again fail to make the Grand Final. Given this was the second year in succession that they 'achieved' this they get bonus humiliation rating points. 8/10
• Start celebrating hard a semi-final win against home-town rivals the Crows in 2005 even before the game has been played only to be humiliated by a blowout loss to the Crows. Humiliation rating 9/10
• Start celebrating a Grand Final win in 2007 even before the game has been played only to be humiliated by a record-breaking 119-point loss making them the biggest ever Grand Final losers in AFL history. Humiliation rating 10/10

Seriously, I don't know how Port Power supporters can endure that amount of humiliation year after year after year.

Can't wait to see how they seek to top their humiliation efforts in 2008.

Clearly their supporters haven't endured the humiliation very well judging by the crowd numbers and Alan Scott dumping the club. The supporters thought the decade of humiliation was over in Sept this year, subsequent the crowds conveniently increased in Sept 07 with the expectation that the humilaition was behind them.

However, Karma hit in a big way and the GF result should see these fair weather supporters suffer emotional stress for a decade or 2. Can't wait to see the crowd numbers next year. Lets hope they can at least get 20k otherwise the Darwin Power will be a posibility.

35. After getting Big Warren at quarter time to give him a semi homo-erotic heimlich manouvre to unchoke himself he spent the rest of the afternoon trying to work out why he was firm and not concentrating on the game.

36. Big Warren spent the next 3 quarters wondering what aftershave chocko had on and not concentrating on the game. It was revealed to be Old Spice at a later date (Thanks Hutchy) which is suprising cause thats what Chad wears.

I feel sorry for Adelaide.

1. They have a real finals series now so no more jagged premierships
2. Their greatest moment this decade was when Geelong won a game
3. Their coach is a Neil Craig and they can't snaffle Bomber like they did with Blighty and Ayres.
4. An inanimate carbon rod could be drafted and lead the rucks more effectively than what will be actually 'leading' them next year.
