PLUS Your club board comp is now up!
Orly???not to burst anyone's bubble, but i know a couple people who worked in the v8 industry, didn't have anything nice to say about him at all.
regardless, he certainly turned the v8's into a mega success!
i knew there'd be one...As someone who likes motorsport. You guys are stuffed! Up the creek without a paddle.
Orly???
I don't know where you get those figures from. They're as good as made up to me. This is a GC board and I barrack for Carlton. So I'm not going to cause a ****fight here when the footy team board mostly doesn't concern me. But I read this thread, and it appears you guys are concerned about the wrong areas if you're excited about this guy.i knew there'd be one...
turned a business worth $50k into a multi-million dollar industry. i'd call that a success, looking at it from a financial perspective.

For whatever supposed success you see in v8supercars, there's 20 other failures (I can list them?). There's little sustainable success in v8sc. The series is now having to deal negatives of his "legacy", and is unlikely to do so successfully. The mere fact you refer to the class as V8s is an example of this. The name "V8 Supercar" was his idea. The class now has to deal with V8s being more and more irrelevant and has dropped that part off it's name. Despite the fact it's still commonly known as the "V8s".
This is a guy who started a V8 Supercar HoF (HoF don't work in motorsport), and then allowed himself to get put in it! That's the kind of guy you've got. Beware. Don't get your hopes up.
“We’ve moved on a couple of players who we thought were part of the problem rather than part of the solution and we’re very focused on making sure the environment is right,” Cochrane said.
I like this man already. I think only good things will come when he takes over.
Terrible chairman, but a good lawyer and certainly a great asset for the coast. No issues here!
At this point in the season watch for the announcement of at least two board changes; they will have the obligatory: blah, blah, PR waffle and smiley faces all round. If they are solid Gold Coast citizens, with undoubted acumen, Big Footy fans might ask whether it is all as announced or whether ... they see rising damp within ....
Thanks for the heads up, Tony.THE Gold Coast Suns board continues to change with two new members added following the decision by Bob Gordon and Janelle Manders to stand down.
The Suns announced the departures of Gordon, a former Bulletin editor, and Manders, managing partner of HLB Mann Judd Accountants, yesterday after both retired from their positions at the club’s board meeting last month.
Simon Bennett and Martin Rowland will take their place while more changes are expected this month.
Gold Coast have always operated with seven board members but have the capacity to add two more to create a nine-person board if they choose.
New Suns chairman Tony Cochrane, who took over from John Witheriff in March, is understood to be keen on expanding the board.

Thanks for the heads up, Tony.
we had witheriff for 6 years. We do need a women on the new Board.
Loledwe had witheriff for 6 years.
Mate, thanks for your input and it's clear to see, you have a problem with Cochrane, from a Motorsport POV and that's your prerogative, but as one AFL supporter who has no knowledge of Motorsport whatsoever, I won't refute your claims but nor will I support them.
However as far as taking advice from a Carlton supporter, as well-meaning as it is, on one of our boards, that is not one of my attributes. I would suggest you focus your attention on the problems at your own Club, and surely there are plenty enough there for you, and leave us, as a relatively new Club on the scene, to focus on ours.
Cheers.
Peoples interest in clubs other than their own is behind the strength of a good competition. GC might be the game that you have time to sit down and watch on the weekend, so therefore the GCs plight is of interest to non GC supporters, regardless how your own team is faring. You and he are not board members so you are not getting advise and he doesnt have Carltons problems to solve.
BTW. want to see O'Meara back as soon as possible and hope the suitors are not successful as he is a player you can ill afford to lose.
