I agree with OSB on the 5th final spot when you only have 8 teams. I do think the league needs to work very hard on signing another 2 teams into the league.

Still stand my call about C/L. I do rate Navarre highly even if they are yet to produce any wins against the top 3 sides.

However, in saying this, I wish them all the best if they prove me wrong.

Well what a weekend of footy.
If Rokewood was a race horse you would have an inquiry into its performance!!!!! Favourite against Ararat and getting done then a week later a complete turn around and beating the top team!!!!

Every league has a team that sits in 5th that just makes up the numbers and I think that the LPFL is no different.

A number of clubs from another league have been approached to join the LPFL but the VCFL will only step in if there are any major concerns with leagues rather than clubs falling over.

The Wimmera league are talking (rumours) about adding another team into their league, Western Border are also looking at something similar so it may cause a snowball affect with leagues merging and teams hopping from one league to the next.

Let's hope so for the Lexton Plains League sake

Find me a league where a team loses 2 out of every 3 weeks and still is in finals contention. At 4-11 none of these teams even deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as finals. I like the top 4 system and think it would suit this league well.

I agree with you OSB but I cannot see this league going to a final 4. Lets hope the review of the Lexton Plains League and the other leagues enables us to get 2, 3 or 4 teams into the league in the near future

I can't either but I would rather see the top 2 teams only be rewarded with the double chance. It rewards consistent form throughout the home and away season.

More than 50% of the teams playing finals is just stupid. Another 2 teams would be ideal.

Bring on the finals!!!! The final 5 is here to stay. The League make to much money from the finals gate takings to change.

Here we go again - Skipton with injury concerns, Rokewood with split personallity disorder and C/L sitting back laughing.

Who will get 5th spot? I would expect Navarre to beat Lexton, Chokewood should beat Illabarook which leaves Natte v Ararat. Eagles poor % so would need to win by 100pts. Natte win and they are in. Too close to call.

i believe he will not play this week

Tips for this weekend

Rokewood and Navarre
rokewood in a suprise to-day. carnhan looking flat!!!!!!!! no porter has them looking a little shaky. BUT!!!!! the biggest question will be do Skipton play JOEL RISKE after getting done for assult and possesion with drugs and reportedly $9000 in cash when he assulted the guy Wilson who playes for East Point----formerly of rokewood!!!!!!!!!Where was Grahem Laley the cheif minder when this happened???????

Holy hell young joel has found a bit of trouble for himself. Just saw the scores on countryfootyscores.com and c/l looked like they kicked themselves out of it 9 17 to 13 8. The forward line has been a problem for them all year. The return of ladiges has settled it a little but there still looks like problems. Did tommy play?

Tommy didnt play but I am told by r/c officials that he will next saturday against skipton!!!! Sad for Joel... he got heaps of ability but off field is a concern.... If McKay doesnt play next saturday...gues they will have to play him.

Navarre home easy against Natte today, 15.12 to 4.7. Should be a good game against Carngham next week, have been pretty close contests during the regular season. Carngham by 1 point the first time and 10 points the second time from memory.

Some would say it would be a Riske to play him.

Boom tish. Thank you ill be performing all week see reception for tickets

I am tipping Rokewood over Skipton and Navarre over C/Linton this weekend. Anybody elses thoughts?

If Navarre were to topple Carngham, it would be a massive upset, one of the biggest in finals in the whole Lexton Plains history. Carngham shouldn't lose. They are seasoned campaigners and a better side. Skipton is a big chance to lose though.

I know skipton are desperate to win a flag but at what cost??…….. Is it worth having these events tarnish the reputation of the whole club? Who does this Riske guy think he is? a poor man’s Ben Cousins. And this is just a follow up from two of their reserve players getting done for “glassing” someone at a Ballarat hotel…

Congratulations to Jason Hill on winning the Clarke Medal last night... Certainly a very dangerous player and judging by his comments it is great recognition for the rigours he puts his body through each week.

Big question: Did Jason Hill play the last game against Skipton. Checked the record and he was not named in their best 6 or kick a goal, yet he got 3 votes.

My understanding was he missed the last 4 games.

Comments please
