Conspiracy?? Please! Every year in every comp there are contentious votes!

The award deserves recognition but any award that is awarded by umpires votes will never ever be 100% accurate. Hill is a good player and a worthy winner.

Probably a case of simple misunderstanding from the umps really, on the field Hill and Keam do look similar in appearance, they might just combine their possessions and think that Hill got them all. Unlucky for Keam yes, but would be some sort of explanation

Jason Hill got 9 votes in the Courier comp by the way???

What a turn up for the books. Central Highlands are playing their GF at North Ballarat ground and their netballers voted to go to Learmonth and not play at Wend courts!!!!!!!
The LPFL board were thinking the same but logistically it would not have worked out.
Having all gam3s at Learmonth will be great.
Lets hope for good weather.

congratulations to skipton for making grand final..... should be a good tussell next week between c/l and rokewood. both teams have obtained injuries during final series. i am tipping c/l in a close battle.

Was at the game yestie and i must say it seemed like C/L had fielded a totaly different side to the week before the lose to rokewood must of really hit home and they came out Fireing, i think both skipton and rokewood would not have liked what they had seen and still have a couple of players to come back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone no the full extent of hutchins injurie they iced him up pretty early saturday and would be very surprised if he got up, would be a massive lose for rokewood if he was not to play they would lose a lot of drive from there backline:thumbsu:

If Hutchins is out who do you think will get Ladiges? I think he will be the match winner with no match up for him. If Mullane-grant plays he will have his hands full with Wemyss who played great last week on Robertson and Rokewood will need some goals from him to have a chance. Carngham to win if they play like they did on sunday.

Rokewood have the three main footy sides in Saturday. Favourites in the ones and twos. Does anyone sense a bad day for the hoppers and a chokewood chant come on?

i think mullane-grant would be mad to play considering what the weather predictions are WET and he still looks propy walking around, if he does wemyss will have his measure, he is yet to play on him this year but has beaten all the key forwards all year Robinson has kicked 4 goals in 3 games Molloy 2 goals 1 game and mckay 1 goal 1 game not a bad record best back man in the league:thumbsu:

can any one shed any light on what happened to Watts on Sunday. I'd imagine a investigation will occur from this incident

Wasn't at the game but there is an article on page 22 of todays Herald Sun about the alleged 'king hit'. It doesn't mention any players names but I would imagine that given the seriousness of the injuries incurred and if it was a king hit from behind as the article states the matter will definitely be taken further and charges will most likely be laid.

I couldn't find the article on the web so I'll just re-type it.

KO Stops Footy For 40 Minutes - Brendan Roberts

A country football final was stopped for 40 minutes after a player was allegedly king-hit behind play in yet another episode of sporting violence.
The Lexton Plains Football League semi-final between Carngham Linton and Navarre was thrown into turmoil after a Navarre player was knocked unconscious, suffering a depressed fracture to the skull.
The Navarre player lay unconscious for several minutes as an ambulance was called to the Rokewood football ground.
LPFL general manager Rod Ward said the league was taking the matter seriously and he expected an investigation to be launched within days.
"We are just waiting for the Navarre club to speak to the player involved and lodge an investigation request," Mr Ward said. "From what we understand there were two players involved in a push-and-shove and a third player became involved, and that's where the incident occurred."
The incident happened in the final minute of the third quarter. Trainers from both clubs treated the man on the ground as they waited for an ambulance.
Navarre club president Wayne Driscoll said the victim had been treated for a depressed fracture above his jaw and was bleeding from the ear.
Mr Driscoll declined to comment further, saying the matter was in the league's hands.
Carngham Linton Football Club's president did not return the Herald Sun's calls.

From what i have heard, it was definitely NOT a "king hit", ie, from behind.

Watts struck a CL player, another CL player remonstrated with Watts, Watts then struck that CL several times, while this was happening, the CL player he initially struck came front on to Watts and struck him while he was still swinging at the 2nd CL player.

I have also heard that throughout the first half, Watts had thrown several other cheap shots at 2-3 other CL players.

Will there be an investigation? Watts probably wont want there to be, as apparently, he started the whole thing, and could himself, cop a very hefty suspension..

I have heard the exact same thing as above. Its amazing how some teams can get away with whacking cunts then get hit themselves only to get the league to investigate

Its the same thing i heard, kelly was the the player he hit in the first or second quarter he had to leave the ground. Watts got what was coming to him if you throw punches you have got to expect them back.

yes, i was at the game and totally independent of both teams. watts is a good player and hard at the ball. he also let quiet a number of fists go before and during this incident. he was no doubt the cause of the incident, although i don't condem what happened to him. i beleive an investigation if requested will highlight this. good luck to all teams this weekend.

That statement is completely wrong. I was at the game and the hit on Watts came from behind by B Raynor no.25. Raynor ran 15 metres to king hit Watts. Watts at the time was about 1-2 metres away from a push and shove between two other players a was facing away from Raynor. This is excactly what happended and was verified by at least 10-12 other people I spoke to after the incident. One of the lowest efforts I have seen in footy:thumbsdown:. Even Raynor knew what he did was wrong as he was white as a ghost after the incident and was put on the bench when play resumed for the rest of the game. And to go with that apparently there has been to concern about the players welfare by CL at all. DISGRACE!!!

Carngham Linton president David Linane called Navarre president Wayne Driscoll to see how Watts was going. Ben Rayner hit Watts in the face with one punch and he was right in front of him not behind so it was not a king hit. Watts hit Tim Clarke in the face first so that's why Ben Rayner jumped in they are brothers. I don't think it was right thing to be doing but if you want to throw them then you should be ready for a few back. So i think you should get your facts right before you start spreading rumors.

Mate not from Navarre at all, just a spectator on the day. If CL President has contacted Navarre it has been in the last 24hrs, so a fair delay from Sunday, but at least it has been done which is fair. As far as how the incident unravelled, I'm only commenting on what I and many other people from around the league saw, no rumour there mate. The true story will come out in the fullness of time no doubt. And don't go getting all hostile over the thread mate, cause I'm sure you wouldn't carry on like that face to face.
