yer what happened? will c/l be able to lour harris hillys old team mate would be a big pick up but the coin at carisbrook must be huge

No for 2 reasons.

1. He has already signed at Carisbrook and the clearance is lodged.

2. If the rumours are true that Hill is having troubles and is wanting to leave, he will hardly talk the club up to Harris.

Mudflapper did you see this incident?

It is my understanding that the Carngham/Linton goal umpire struck the Illabarook U/17 full forward "three" times throughout the game.

This wouldn't be the guy that umpires in the 1's also would it? I have heard similar accusations too. I was standing behind the goals in one of the CL games I have seen this year and there was a fair bit of lip service being paid from the umpire. Which IMO is not on.

I heard Hill & Ross Waters had a fair old fall out after a club function a couple of weeks ago. Hill was ready to walk i'm told. BUT he played on saturday with a very ordinary hamstring so if he was gonna go why would he have risked it. Also Ross was using the name natterock earlier in the year on this site so my guess is he's still on here under a new name so TELL US WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOU & HILLY ROSS

mate your sources couldnt be right i was at the function( i dont play for c/l) and there was no fall out between waters and hill, hills last qtr on saturday from all reports was fanatastic he was in and under and eventually put c/l infront rumours are probably false

I bet Snail's source is spot on. He has rarely been wrong about any of the information he puts on this board.

I suggest you asked your Illabrook friends who informed you off this latest incident, to fill you in on a previous act of hitting a goal umpire some years ago......and i also suggest you change your sourse of information , your discription of the incident could not be further from the truth.......

Interesting that you mention that incident as I was told that the goal umpire from the incident years ago is now coaching cl u 17s. Also told that the goal umpire alledgedly hit on saturday is a current cl u17 player who apart from mouthing off all day was 'physically' involved with several illabarook players after the game.

Apologies to all, the information i recieved was utter sh*t from a bloke who knows a bloke, in reality knows f**k all. Spoke today to a team mate of hills (also a new recruit) who says he's as focussed as he's seen him and is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY he will be leaving. With all the talk still about C/L i would like to say well done so far to Skipton & Rokewood who in my opinion are the yardsticks AT PRESENT. I'm still cautious to write off C/L

The Hill v Waters saga is old news and I agree that it would be unlikely to be true.

My mail must be close to the mark because apparently Illabarook have also lodged an official complaint with the VCFL with a number of grievances resulting from the same game.
As for hitting a goal umpire some years ago. It was one incident almost 20 years ago (1989 I think), so I wouldn't call it tradition.
I'll ask the question again. Mudflapper did you see this incident?
If you have a different version of events let's hear it!!

No OSB not the same guy. Apparently he is C/L U/17 captain, not sure why he wasn't playing. But I bet he wishes he had of just stuck to waving the flags.

Are Natte any chance this week??? Will a loss this week mean no chance of top 2???
They are a chance, but if i was a betting man i'd be prepared to put a fair whack on Skipton. So far Natte have relied heavily on Mcnamee to kick the majority of the score so if they hold him i would suggest a Skipton win. I'll go out on a limb here and predict Skipton to win easily, possibly by more than 5 goals as Natte still seem a little fragile to me.

Mentally fragile you think Snail???

Any word on the injury of star Navarre coach Zane Bigmore? Hopefully he recovers quiclkly as he is the MVP of the LPFL. Luckily he has some mates who are very good non playing coaches who will help him through, good luck to him.

It is my understanding that the Carngham/Linton goal umpire struck the Illabarook U/17 full forward "three" times throughout the game.
The "third" assault (after the final siren) was witnessed by the Illabarook U/17 coach, who objected to the treatment of his player.
Aparrently the Illabarook coach didn't strike C/L goal umpire, but I'm sure it will all come out in the VCFL investigation.

PS: What is the long tradition of hitting umpires you refer to?

Well nightshifter, for starters the goal umpire was a 15 year old kid. He obviously shouldn't have gotten involved in a fight between players, but that doesn't mean an adult has the right to strike him

P.S Robbie "mad dog" Muir was once suspended for assaulting a goal umpire while wearing Illabarook colours

Yeah i agree hitting a 15 year old kid is shocking. He must be a pretty tough adult if he's hitting kids:thumbsdown:

Interesting comment Biff, who would your top 5 be and who are the top 3 in courier player of the year award?

Who cares about the courier player of the year award? Everyone knows it usually goes to a half decent player in a struggling side. I can say that without a doubt the top 3 in the courier award at the end of the year will not represent the actual top 3 in the league. IMO they should run the award like they do in the B.F.L(5 votes shared between both sides) not 3 votes for each side.

It's pretty tough as I've only seen a few teams. My top 5 for the league are...

1. Tom Blackford. I think this guy is a genuine gun. Hard at it and gets heps of it.
2. Keirnan Molloy. Too classy for most defenders and can kick goals.
3. Jason Hill. The guy puts in 100% every week and I think he is a great player.
4. James McNamee. I've followed him since his NBJFC days and I think he is the key to Natte. I don't think any top 5 team is so 1 player dependant.
5. Tim McKey. You can't knock a big man that leads from the front and is dangerous anything within 60m.

I think guys like Stephen Ross, Ross Waters, Clint Ladiges and Zane Bigmore need to be on their game to have an impact. The 5 rated above are week in week out consistant players.

SPEAKING OF BIGUN PLAYERS YOU SHOULD ADD THE GREAT PAUL BULGER TO THAT LIST HE TOWELLED UP MACKAY BIG TIME IN O5 SHOULD HAVE WON THE MEDAL,HOWEVER THAT OTHER BULGER THAT PLAYS FOR THE EAGLES SHOULD GO WELL IN THE MEDAL WONT GET ANY 3 CAUSE THE EAGLES WONT WIN A GAME HOWEVER IN MY OPINION IS 1 OF 2 PLAYERS FROM THE EAGLES THAT WOULD MAKE THE BEST 22 FOR REP GAMES

the eagles are about to unleash a new goal kicking machine to make it three, initials S.S

Yeah King i just think they aren't quite as mentally tough as the Skiptons or Rokewoods of the comp. For instance, the two sides i mentioned couldn't care less what crap Ross Waters & co dish up to them on game day they'll win the ball with no fear then laugh at that crap, on the other hand when Natte met C/L a few weeks ago the BFL rang C/L and told them concerns had been voiced by some Natte people about the safety of its players and mysteriously 4 cop cars were at the ground. I know Natte won but you can see my point.... i hope
