With the combined game being so early in the season selection for the team will have to be based mostly on last season & reputation i'd say.
That being the case you could almost pick it now!, obviously clearances are to be put in and processed but anybody care to have a crack at a team. Would love to see a few ideas as i beleive the top 20 players in most leagues across this region would stack up well against each other

lets open up a talking point, does someone want to have a go at picking an interleague side seeing as though the lpfl will have one this year

B.Williams, B.Macgowan, E.Johnson
J.Harney, Robinson, Fletcher
J.Hill, B.Driscoll, S.Ross
C.Ladiges, K.Molloy, J.Mcnamee
J.Porter, T.Mckay, B.Augustine
B.Martin, T.Blackford, R.Waters

Int- M.Stasse, B.Mortlock, K Begbie

There would be other players that you could include that are either unavailable, injured or new players coming into LPFL!
I have done this from memory, so i may have left some out!

I only saw the grand final and a few other finals so i am only going from that to make a few changes from the team already there.

Stasse- was great in the finals and i think he would be the best ruckman in the league.

R. Waters- Had big wraps and i thought was average, big slow and had little impact in the gf. My thoughts is he is not an onballer. Could be a impact player. BENCH

McKay- had no impact on the Prelim game at all, went missing. He could not be ahead of Porter, Ross, McNamee and Ladiges at FF. OMITTED

B. Mortlock- Well past it and from all reports is known as the Natte sniper. OMITTED

M. Ramsay- Would have slotted him into a forward pocket

* Changed Fletcher forward, he lokked promising there in prelim, McNamee looked better on ball in gf and thought Begbie should fill the void at half back. Bit stiff for the league medalist to miss out!

How can you leave Raynor out? I'd much rather have him in a back pocket than E. Johnson who never played a minute in the backline this year.

FB: Raynor McGowan L Berlund

HB: Blackford Fletcher R. Waters

C: Hill B. Driscoll S. Ross

HF: Augustine Molloy J. Burt

FF: McLean Porter Ladiges

R: Stasse McNamee Ramsay

B: McKay Begbie Johnson

The forward line is the hardest part of this side. The LPFL has a number of talented forwards so fitting them into the best six is hard. And 4 of my 6 are from CL!

Sounds like you may have a grudge against Bruno, Leak?

Not really. From what people tell me he is more elbows and knees these days. He was a good player in his day but surely not in the best 21 in the Lexton League. In his prime - no doubt he would have been one of the better on ballers.

I know Ararat were on the bottom of the Ladder, but maybe O'Connell and Bulger might slot in somewhere, maybe half back or interchange.

1 name to look out for is definitly ben martin (navarre) was the dominating ruckman in the wimmera fl last season and he will run rings around any other ruckman in any minor league. put his name in for interleague for sure!!

he goes ok but Stasse would be the best ruckman in the league by a long shot....

Stasse is a very strong player and I do agree that he is the #1 ruckman. The Ruck position is generally 1 point where every team could improve. There aren't too many good ones floating around the LPFL.

I would have thought the best wimmera ruckman against Stasse would win the contest hands down. Stasse had a very good year and i agree would be the best ruckman in the LPFL last year but i would believe Ben Martin will be the #1 ruckman easily this year!

Yep. He'll cover more territory than the early settlers. Would've thought most LPFL ruckmen would struggle to run that much.

Righto lets get some convo's flowing...

Which sides have started preseason at this point? .
Any notable recruits signed to anyone at this stage?
Who's got the best and worst draw?
How will the ladder finish and who will take it out?

With Braithe Nunn set to step down as captain of C/L this season, the burning question is who shall the club get to replace him? There are a few candidates that come to mind: Duane Bodey, James Raynor, Matt Stasse, Adam McLean to name a few, but in my opinion they should look no further in Lintons favourite son, the "Italian Stallion" Ryan Pridham.

Ryan has all the traits you'd look for in a captain: Courage, fantastic work ethic both at training and in games, and is feared by all who have had the misfortune of lining up against him.

One other factor to take into account is his pulling power with the ladies. I know all the gals around the club love seeing Ryan run around in his tight little footy shorts, and having him as the face of the club may help to lure more netballers. I mean, I'm not gay or anything but even I get a little excited when i see him take his shirt off at training, or I get to stand next to him in the showers.

In summary, there is only one man for the job:
VOTE 1 RYAN PRIDHAM!! :) :thumbsu:

Can any body give me any informtion on Dallas Martin from Rokewood and Sam Gudgeon from Illabrook?
What positions, strengths etc would be fantastic
