Bad news down Ararat way seem they might of lost there coach

footballers wanted. 2 jobs going as fully qualified welders at ararat factory. excellent money. long term jobs. send me a message for more details..........

With Braithe Nunn set to step down as captain of C/L this season, the burning question is who shall the club get to replace him? There are a few candidates that come to mind: Duane Bodey, James Raynor, Matt Stasse, Adam McLean to name a few, but in my opinion they should look no further in Lintons favourite son, the "Italian Stallion" Ryan Pridham.
Ryan has all the traits you'd look for in a captain: Courage, fantastic work ethic both at training and in games, and is feared by all who have had the misfortune of lining up against him.

One other factor to take into account is his pulling power with the ladies. I know all the gals around the club love seeing Ryan run around in his tight little footy shorts, and having him as the face of the club may help to lure more netballers. I mean, I'm not gay or anything but even I get a little excited when i see him take his shirt off at training, or I get to stand next to him in the showers.

In summary, there is only one man for the job:
VOTE 1 RYAN PRIDHAM!! :) :thumbsu:

Not sure if that would work Crafty4pm last time i heard of this guy he was living overseas, remember him as a young bloke with abilility, I think once he hit 18 (legal drinking age) things went pear shaped.

PLAYING COACH WANTED

Due to extreme circumstances Ararat Eagles, affiliated with the Lexton Plains Football League are seeking a playing coach for the 2008 season. Excellent playing and social room facilities with a young list to work with. Have been getting on average 24 players to training at the moment. For more information contact me throuogh a personal message. Closing date 8th Feb.

I think you're gonna need to post a bit more than that orion. The BF public are gonna need to know what happened to Bill Bell and why Rob Bretherton doesn't just step up to the role.

Bill unfortunately quit as coach because of personal reasons, while B.J. has some family issues to deal with and hasnt got the time to be a senior coach this year. Is that ok magnett?????????????

good numbers at the dogs first training for this year.

the coach jamie lamb talked about 4 new keys players to the team.

Orion, Can anyone else within your ranks step and coach or take on leadership roles within your club? IE D.O'Connell has been around for a while now and might make a good coach he certainly shows plenty of passion out on the ground, What about Bulger, Dalkin and co could they step up to be on field leaders?. As I have posted on this forum before I have a soft spot for the underdogs and would love too see the Eagles up and firing I dont know how long the LPFL would last if the Eagle arn't around. Good luck in finding a coach:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Ararat Eagles share a similar plight as many other clubs that are struggling. They have been down for so long that it is just so hard to get back up. The percieved culture from the outside is a losing one and this makes it unattractive for players to go and play. No one wants to get belted every week.

Good points KING, The Ararat Eagles will struggle to get good quality footballers from Ballarat because they can get better money around here and dont have to travel as far, EG Why would a player from Ballarat go to Ararat for say$200- $500 a game when he can get the same or better money from C/L and know that they are going to play in a winning side, I would suggest that for the Eagles and the Rats to improve it must come from the players that they have already got. The committees of both Ararat clubs need to get tough on clearances to the local BIG MONEY clubs, My sources from around Ararat way tell me that whenever good young prospects come up in either club, they end up getting pouched by the BIG MONEY from the MDFL.

It takes hard word and you need to utilise everyone within your football club. Encourage all players and supporters to actively recruit during the off-season rather than just rely on the recruiting committee. Easier said than done I know. It's a gradual thing though. Just need to set the club up right, get the kids strong and then spend money wisely and get the club up the ladder a few spots at a time.

Good luck to the Ararat boys for season 08!

At the last delegates meeting of the M'borough/Castlemaine league it was stated by the people who are in the know that clearances will be a thing of the past by 2009. If you want to keep a player you will have to have them on a contract. It is almost to that stage now as the only way you can hold up a clearance is if the player owes money or owes for property, is currently disqualified or is on contract.

Yeah its hard to recruit when we have been down for so long. We are percieved as the whipping boys of football so why would people cum to us?????? We have a great young list and a loyal supporter base, brand new social rooms and an excellent ground. but when you are percieved as loosers its just to hard at moment. Also you are right in that when good young players or new players cum into the area sum clubs near by just offer to much money and we cannot compeat. But good on them as if we were in a situation where we were winning premierships etc I would be out there getting everyone I could!!!!! But we will keep on going and hopefully our luck will change soon!!!

I think this is a bit harsh on the mdfl clubs. Tatyoon signs two good young players in two years and all of a sudden they do it all the time. People have to remember that it works both ways. Taty have had many good young footballlers go through the ranks and then go to another club. I think they produced something like 5 or 6 Ararat U/17 B&F players who ahve gone on to play good senior football. The wheel always turns and it seems that the smaller clubs get all the slack

This must be a bit of a touchy subject Magic, I dont recall any mention of Tatyoon in this post, anyway thanks for the info.

Well what team fron the MDFL has players from Ararat. So it is referring to tatyoon. So who is going to coach the eagles? Brent Searle?

I believe that Moyston/Willaura has Ararat blokes playing doesn't it? John Vanderwaal is one I can name straight away.
Luke Cox still with the Rams?
Mick Jennings still with Wicky Bolac?
Every MDFL club north of the Glenelg Highway has had Ararat based players in the past. Shit, 50 years ago guys like Gerry Brennan, Jack Antonio and Henry Gunstone played and coached in the MDFL. It's gone on for at least that long.

There could be some big news coming out of the CL direction if my mail is correct and my mailman plays a big part in that club.

I'm actually surprised it has not surfaced yet.
