It's complicated, with body parts found at different times scattered across counties. Here's a really good timeline.

TIMELINE

Developments are ongoing with the page in the link above updated as news is released.

I'm not sure why this lawyer is going so hard at the family, he's been at it since the arrest.

My only logic is that It’s one of the most high profile cases in modern history in the states and that he is just trying to get free advertising. I think we forgot how capitalist and gross America is living in our bubble here.

With a father like that, who knows what she could have witnessed and/or endured. She may have some involvement or she may be deeply troubled.

THIS!

PS. The NYTimes is doing very good coverage Kurve not salacious or dodgy.

I'm not sure if any of you can read the comments for the article but they are always interesting to read.

Geez pretty damning based on the prosecutions comments about what the documents covers.

It's hard to believe how he could raise any kind of defence in the face of all the evidence they appear to have.

Indeed, sounds like even his lawyer struggled to spin it. Might also give clues to a few more unsolved murders.

Heuermann left body parts in a place called Manorville, where other bodies were also found and a John Bittrolff convicted for the murder of two.

We wondered in here somewhere, given how many bodies were being found across counties if there was two serial killers operating in the area and if one or both were playing some sick game of oneupmanship.

Heuermann in the least, was dumping on Bittrolff's turf.

The skull of one victim – known only as “Fire Island Jane Doe” – was found on Gilgo Beach in 2011, but her legs were found about 16 miles east on Fire Island in 1996.

Valerie Mack’s head, hands and right foot were found on Gilgo Beach in 2011, but her torso was found 11 years earlier in Manorville, New York, which is about 40 miles east of Gilgo Beach.

Similarly, Jessica Taylor’s skull, hands and one of her forearms were found around the beach along Ocean Parkway in March 2011, but her torso was found in Manorville in 2003.

Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann had a new supporter in the courtroom Tuesday — a scraggly black lab mix named Stewie.

Asa Ellerup showed up in a Long Island courtroom Tuesday cozying up with the family dog as her troubled husband made his latest appearance before a Suffolk County judge — with the pup suited up with a harness marked “Service Dog.”

Ellerup initially distanced herself from her architect husband, but in recent months has dutifully been in the courtroom for his appearances and has visited him in jail regularly, officials said.

“I mean, it’s his dog,” defense attorney Michael Brown told reporters. “I don’t know if he saw Stewie but I did mention that his dog was there.”

Absent from the courtroom Tuesday was the couple’s daughter, Victoria, with Ellerup instead bringing Stewie along to keep her company as the two sat at the rear of the room during the proceedings.

Heuermann was sporting a new black suit, blue tie and a new haircut as he faced Suffolk County Judge Timothy Mazzie — repeatedly shaking his head during the brief court appearance.
