Delisted twice in two years is rough

Not surprised by both delistings. I felt Morris was getting games due to our injury list, otherwise l couldn't see her playing as many games as she did.
For Evans, already delisted after the previous season, so unless she had a string of strong performances during the season, and commanded her spot in the team, l didn't think she would survive another cull....

Yeah, Imogen just couldn't get involved as we would have liked.
Eleri, you could tell when she wasn't getting picked. The writing was on the wall

Including Sheridan who was inactive thats 8
Hard to work this out....
its 7 if we include the irish rookie signing.

Then there is the matter of the replacement players getting delisted...do they count in the 30? or are they above the 30?

Knocking off approx. 25% of the list is a pretty big statement.

Remos was also an injury replacement player?
We had Evans = Sheridan
Remos = Morris-Dalton, but given the good year and numbers she put up, wouldn't be surprised if we gave her a contract.

But the likes of Ivey/Ingrim were train ons, so don't think they count to the list.

And rightly so! I'm a paid up AFLW member and gutted. With Wright coming in as a new coach, there was a grace period this season to see where we are at and at least now in undeniable.

Norf set the standard by going undefeated this year, whereas we "technically" lost every single game. If we didn't have a good cull, I'd be wanting a new coach / panel. We are so far off the pace with kicking and marking skill fundamentals it aint funny.

Onward and upwards.

And some can say we were lucky to even win that 1 game, given the question marks on that non paid suns goal that got taken away from them

Bad year for the comp to stop giving compo picks to poorly performing teams
Bulldogs didn't get any additional help last year did they?

I thought it was just the expansion clubs (Essendon, Hawthorn, Port, Sydney) taking some of the better U18 in the talent pathway pre-signing period.

Of the players picked up the bolded ones made the 2024 AFLW 22 under 22 squad:
  • Amy Gaylor, Essendon
  • Hayley McLaughlin, Hawthorn
  • Laura Stone, Hawthorn
  • Jess Vukic, Hawthorn
  • Lauren Young, Port
  • Molly Brooksby, Port
  • Shineah Goody, Port (2nd in Rising Star)
  • Holly Cooper, Sydney

Not sure what Atkinson's contract status is for a irish rookie, not sure if she is OOC or not. I assume we didn't just offer a 1 year deal.
And then we have last years 2 other draftees Clark and Schutte I assume will get extensions, everyone else seems to be accounted for that were OOC

So in saying that, seems we have 24 players for 2025 (assuming Remmos gets a contract) add 1 for the new Irish girl, thats 25. Leaving 5 available spots for draft or/and trade.
Unless someone asks for a trade thats in contract.

I felt the gameplan was beyond our players this year.
They looked confused and panicked with ball in hand.

It relied a lot on holding width at contest / stoppage and giving hands....but we failed in both holding width and our handballing was very very poor. So we got opened up a lot off poor execution.

Next year we'll find out if the coach is up to it IMO.

Still will be short on high quality players, but at least we'll get a better idea of whether the gameplan is actually achievable.

Does this mean one of us or hawks can pick up Harris without a trade? I mean she's without a contract.
