Haha. An upset win isn't based on ladder position. It's based on who people think will win. Anyone who knows footy would have had it 50/50 so to call it an upset is incorrect, unless you base your tipping solely from ladder position which is laughable.

If it was 50/50 then how did North win by 60? It was upset although Richmond had a few starting 22 out.

... Are you being serious right now?

It was 50/50 because it could go either way.
It went North's way. That's still not an upset.

Spin it any way you like, the simple fact is North have been better then Richmond for the last 5 years and are better now. You don't beat a side by 10 goals without being significantly better. Richmond rely on too few, where as North are a better side. North have better forwards, better backs and dare I say it a midfield that bats much deeper.

Doesn't matter if people think Richmond are better because we keep beating them. All this talk of Richmond playing finals is a tad premature too, I wouldn't be surprised if GC roll them again this weekend and if that happens the watch the wheels come off

The result was a shock.

North beat a team who they have got over regularly for the last couple of years (including a game this year) at their home ground. If anyone was 'shocked' by North winning they must be spoon-fed their tipping from Roby and his power rankings.

Ok North won we get it we saw it. Richmond are still the better side.

You left out the part where he said because people like to compare the lists they like to stay one step ahead of Richmond

He didn't exactly say that it's North's grand final but he went very close :p

Jk

This thread is funny
Ever since Johny Longmire kicked 12 goals against the tiges in 1990 North has been a better team.

The tiges had an off day, but lets see how the ladder looks in 3-5 weeks before we get too excited about either list.

North are coming, Richmond have been great this year.

Bastinac > daylight > Conca
Ziebell > Martin
Wells > Deledio
Thompson > Rance
Goldstein > Maric
Black > Riewoldt

I could keep going.

We are a better list with more high end talent.

West Coast (@Subi), Carlton, Port (@AAMI), Adelaide, St Kilda (x2), Bulldogs (x2) and Melbourne.

So they've beaten two teams that North failed to beat :)

So really, West Coast. North beat Adelaide last year and they only just beat us this year. You've beaten one real team and that team still sits outside the 8. Congrats.

yep
yep
looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

If you combined the sides it would look like:

Rance - Thompson - Mullett
Newman - Chaplin - Houli
Deledio - Cotchin - Wells
Harvey - Vickery - Martin
Black - Riewoldt - Thomas
Goldstein - Ziebell - Foley
Ellis - Conca - Bastinac - Vlastuin

13/9 split to the tigers. Yeah, Richmond

Haha, you can't be serious? :D

Oh well I guess that settles it then.

Because I chose Richmond? Bastinac is slightly better than Conca. Martin ****ing shits on Ziebell. Wells is about on par with Lids. And Black is better than Riewoldt? It's like saying Rory Thompson is better than Luke McPharlin

Disagree with the bolded. A couple of them are laughable. Can't argue with Thompson or Goldstein though.

So your win against Adelaide from last year counts but Richmond's wins last year against Hawthorn and Sydney don't?

Lol.

It's funny because Richmond and North are in the exact opposite position to last year, with one in the 8 after beating up minnows while the other sits outside with a healthy percentage after nearly beating a number of contenders. Yet the same arguments used to denigrate Richmond last year are now used to praise North, and vice versa.

Except North just humiliated Richmond
