IV drip of more than 50 ml is illegal. Less than 50ml doesn't even rehydrate you and is NOT a drug anyway.
Vitamins B and C can be taken orally. Ever heard of Berocca? Because of this they are not routinely injected into players. They also have no proven performance enhancement qualities unless you are vitamin deficient.
Further to this. It's something that has always bothered me about the talk of injected vitamins. From what I understand, the vitamins are mixed with saline and from what I've seen, require >50ml for beneficial usage.

Anyone with a medical background who can shed some light?

For example, this study http://www.nutritionj.com/content/11/1/7 mentions a 20ml iv injection of vitamin c with 100ml of saline over 30minutes.

Here is how the NFL players do it

Where does it say that?

It's good that you're making excuses for your ex-coaches love of jabbing himself though.

It says he received syringes and containers of the drugs on-site.

it didn't say he injected them on-site.

Therefore, he is allowed to inject himself up to his eyeballs with whatever the hell he likes in the privacy of his own home.

Ok are you pulling our leg?

I'm trying to understand both sides, and I can only do that by reading both sides of the story. Sometimes I'll read your side and think to myself "gee, that's not a bad point" but then I also have faith there's an answer to it on my side.

Sometimes I don't know the answer, but I keep my faith in them and in time everything will sought itself out.

The same thing happens when people argue religion with me, I get what they're saying, I'm not stupid, but sometimes you've just got to have faith.

Yep and good for you an maybe you are right but seems a bit of a stretch to assume Hirdy would not lie to his 'loyal supporters.'

If it's in the bible then that's the right one :thumbsu:

If you're joking then I do encourage you to give it a try, it'll change your life :)

Exactly. It has to be injected on-site to incriminate him.
No, it has to be onsite for him to have failed the anti doping code.

It says neither in the report, which is why I wrote " you better keep your fingers crossed".

Let's not get stuck on the fact that James Hird was self injecting WADA banned drugs though. :drunk:

Hm, so he can't even hold them on-site?

What if he didn't know what it was until he left the site? The article said he didn't ask any questions, so it's plausible.

He can inject himself at home, but not at the club. Nothing wrong with that cos he's not competing.

I'll be praying for you. Gary Ablett is religious, so is Swallow, and Miles (how else could he make so much progress so fast?)

God is able to help us achieve anything, and if you feel him whispering on your heart I'm here for a PM :)

You're the type of person Dank would love.

Dank isn't all bad IMO, he's a bit like a mad scientist who you have to control and hopefully benefit from.

I think he pushed the boundaries perhaps a tad too far but his heart was in the right place.

Wasn't his last position at the ACC, he knows exactly what evidence they had because they got it first.

Possibly but I don't think that's likely. He was head of ACC QLD, doubt Dank was his case and confidential info of such investigations wouldn't be spread around the entire organisation.

Danks heart was in his wallet and he found a sucker in Hird to feed it.

'Get your financials ready '

Aren't you the atheist from the other thread?

I'm always here if you have any questions :)
How come faith hasn't fed the starving millions? Why does faith always end up in a shitfight resulting in innocents deaths? Why did Hird say he believed in the course the club was taking on the 5th Feb only to say last week he didn't believe in it? Why do you follow such a liar?

You better cross your fingers then.

“In or about October 2011, Hird received, on Club premises, vials of Melanotan II and syringes from Club High Performance Coach Dean Robinson. Robinson instructed Hird how to self-administer injections of Melanotan II. Hird was aware that Robinson asked Hird no questions about his medical history prior to providing Hird with the Melanotan II and gave no advice as to any potential adverse reactions to the substance."

The report states that Hird made no adequate inquiries as to the substance he was being advised to inject himself with and did not inquire if Robinson was qualified or authorised to advise on the self-administration of injections.

The report says Hird also "made no inquiries as to whether the substance he was being provided with was or might be prohibited by the AFL Anti-Doping Code and the World Anti-Doping Code."

This is based on Robinson's claims which are not corroborated by anyone else and does not match Hird's testimony.
