Loving the extended Kayo Minis for AFL this year, way better than the 5 minute highlights the afl site used to churn out
Kayos have been my lifeblood the last couple of years (NRL and cricket originally)

Dusty likes these !!!

I don't have Kayo but watched it at a friends yesterday. Almost unwatchable, constant buffering and the picture quality very poor. Speaking to others and they are having the same problem. Telstra live app was much better and free! Will not be purchasing.

it does not help that you do not give any info on your friend's configuration.

like I said many times...if using mobile devices + dodgy wifi...you might as well start shouting at clouds.

mine never drops in quality 1080p all the way, PC + ethernet cable, NBN50...torrent in the background.

(even using my mobile phone while I was at the Alfred, Free wifi, you beauty, it was solid as, a nurse signed me up to kayo for me while I was recovering from brain surgery)

Hi learned people.
So has anyone, with at least a download speed of 50 Mbps (or say 40-50 on average), using an apple tv, connected by ethernet, ever had any issues?
As that's my plan if foxtel don't off me another 6 months discounted via satellite.
i'm calling foxtel later today and will play hardball if they don't and want to make sure i won't be stuffed with buffering, drop outs etc

so you have Foxtel satellite ? thought that's supposed to be better than cable...ie. to watch footy 4K you must use Foxtel sat.

I have a 25 Mbps connection and run the pc feed through a Denon amp to the TV by HDMI and the experience is fantastic. With a bit of fiddiing I cane boost the crowd noise and lessen the garbage comments from the "experts"

yeah doesn't hurt to drop subtle hints...I downright threatened to leave Telstra NBN for TPG...they promptly said...Noooooo please don't go...we'll give you $10/mth off you current rate.;) I took it so I could claim kayo discount with Telstra..win win.

will visit TPG again in 12 mths.

I drove my friend's new Ferrari yesterday - piece of junk, wouldn't even start. Not sure if there was petrol in it, though.

50 mbps here, Kayo app on Samsung TV. A bit crappy for the first ten seconds then all good in HD. I've noticed it is a bit crap with in-game replays but suspect that's more a tv thing.
mine is usually pixelated for 1st 2 seconds....2 secs flat...then into 1080p. After that jumping around randomly is all fine, 1080p. This is why I don't like mobile/TV apps, just more potential bottlenecks, PC + decent browser, enjoy.

I have no issues with it, my internet is 40 mbps and i run it through an apple tv box on a 55 inch TV, comes through clear and HD.

Yeah it does take a moment or two to settle but after that fine. Noticeably better for me this year - same gear and internet connection.

I had some issues early trying to run Kayo over wifi with the Missus in another room watching Netflix or whatever. Was enough for me to get in the roof on a 35 degree day and run an Ethernet cable from the TV to my modem 😂 Has been flawless since.

Nothing to do with Kayo whatsoever. I have a rubbish low end 12Mb plan with a cheap provider (not that ISP makes a difference) and can stream in HD without a single issue

a bit OT...but who knows what tomorrow brings...here's Starlink: (Elon's internet baby)

visible in Melb sky ~5am...I do wake up at 5am each morning but never knew about this..might have a squizz next time

Kayo is going to start streaming VFL games as well, so if you're interested in that you get more bang for your buck. Hopefully we get to a point where NAB league games are streamed on large services like Kayo as well.

That is one of my exact setups, though I should add that my internet connection is fibre to the home. The other setup I use is through a Samsung TV, also connected via ethernet. I very rarely have any buffering or drop outs on either setup, full HD picture, the works.

I've had Kayo since the beta launch on day one on Apple TV and it was good enough even back then to convince me to ditch Foxtel. I haven't looked back since, and have taken advantage of a variety of Kayo offers over the journey to make it even better value for money. The current $5/month deal is an absolute steal. The Apple TV app is also very stable in comparison to the Samsung TV, which is perfectly usable but can be a little janky at times. Apple is super easy to use, nice and smooth, and much easier to skip forwards or backwards.
