The good thing about Hurley is he can also play forward.
At the moment our spine is Lloyd, Lucas, Watson, Ryder and Fletcher
Three of them will be gone in 3 years time, Fletcher most likely at the end of next season.
Who are there replacements Neagle (injury prone, poor fitness levels, unproven), Gumbleton (injury prone, unproven), Pears (some injury problems, unproven) Daniher (some injury problems, unproven).
So in other words we have no one who has proven at this stage that they are a lock to replace any of our aging KPP players.
can any Geelong fans give me more insight to Davenport?

I don't know as much as others, but won our VFL Best and Fairest in 2008. Blistering pace. Only spent one year (2008) on the senior list but had been a rookie and VFL player I think. Kicked 8 from the wing once in 2007. Sometimes questionable by foot.
He is exactly the type of player Essendon needs right now.
We desperately needed another KPB and we got him.

Don't be. Jones is a bottom ager, tall, agile possible ruckman-forward - a bit like Cordy. Roughead is a ruckman-tall who can kick a goal. Those are the sort of blokes the club needs. Your other 2, Cornelius, who describes himself a a 3rd tall forward (Welsh, Murphy, Tiller) and O'Keefe, a medium defender (think Hargrave, Morris, Addison, Callan) are types we have already.Im pretty pissed off with our picks

Yeah he's a great player (worth pick 78 anyway)....came to prominence in a VFL GF kicked I think 4 or 5 goals off a wing....so we eventually upgraded him.....our VFL B&F 08 which says something considering how strong our list is.
What you'll like about him is he's very quick, and will kick goals from the midfield, like say Burgoyne and Rodan.

Have Hawthorn finished their picks yet?
I'm surprised that Hawthorn took another forward ahead of Trengove when they need tall defenders.
I guess you don't rate Dowler, Boyle and Thorp...
Hawthorn drafting another ruck is overkill IMO.
