I honestly don't feel anything about it. I just don't think it's a big deal. I don't understand how anyone could think the value of a past champion is degraded by removing the odd reference to his "end" A champion is judged rightly on their deeds, & maybe their character. An honorific label on an end, or a wing, is nice; but it's not sacred or anything. It's just an honorific. Allowing Essendon to honour their champ doesn't in any way demean the heroics of the other champ, surely?

I'm sorry, because I respect your opinion a lot, & your far from an Essendon hater, but that just strikes me as tabloid-ish sensationalist histrionics.

Would just like to point out that according to the club (and also The Age the other day) the actual tribute is only going to be about 15 minutes. Pretty standard I would've thought.

Obviously the Herald Sun decided to sensationalise things a bit by including all of the time between the lap of honour and the coin toss.
