after all the big name recruits that lara got over the summer you would have thought they might have made a better impression but obviously there has been something not quite right which unfortunately has the heat on them again. it would definitely be an advantage to get someone fresh to the club who can change the culture and bring fresh systems and ideas....

Normington was brought in from the outside, but in the end he butted heads with people higher above him as has happened with other coaches. IMO the spotlight should be on ppl higher than the coach with regards to the culture. In Normington's defence, they were crippled with injuries to their key players and the depth just isnt there to cover those players.

Whoever you point the finger at, the fact remains that Lara beat Grovedale in Round 2 and Newtown in Round 6. The other two wins have been against a side that hasn't won a game. Commo46 mentions the big name recruits and hbk aus says Lara have done bloody well to win a few games. Which is it? Everyone is aware of injuries to key players but how many were missing from Round 7-9 when combined defeats of 265 points were suffered? When a club goes through an unsuccessful three-year period that results in the demise of a coach EVERYONE at the club needs to have a good look in the mirror. That means everyone from the President down - including players. Once that has been done perhaps we can bury the conspiracy theories once and for all and move on. New committee members are always welcome if anyone wants to be a part of the club. Actions speak louder than words.

well done to north shore today, played there guts out, great excitement in the rooms after it, also well done to bernie lynch, great effort mate, bell park started lifting there heads today when north shore challenged in the 2nd quarter and weren't headed again all day

Holy crap, how massive is the Bell Park St Joeys game next weekend.

There is 4 points and about 1.2% percentage points seperating them. If Joeys have a good win, they could get over Bell Park on percenatge, but if they win, but only just, they will miss on percenatage. Bell Park just needs to win to make the finals, it's all up to Joeys, there fate is in there hands.

Nail biting last round for the supporters of those clubs.

Congrats to Bernie Lynch on the win yesterday north shore really put in a 4 qtr effort. overall has been a disappointing year 4 north but have some young kids doin well add a couple of key position players will b lookin 4 a much better season next year

Nailbiting stuff for both sides playing this week to earn a finals spot. The Bell Park bean counters would demand finals football, after a heavy summer recruiting campaign.

Some very good points there. My point was that they did get some handy recruits, but below these good players there was very little depth. SO when the injuries to these key players such as Kane Smith, Closter, Sleeman, etc occurred, there was very little left underneath. And i also never said that the coach shouldnt bear some portion of blame, but he also shouldnt be undermined publicly by the president, especially in front of the players. No conspiracy theory, it happened so its a fact. And from the experience of somebody close to me, new ppl to the club and/or committe are made to feel like outsiders unless they want to drink with the clique members...thats also a fact.

I hear the start of the Leopold/St Albans game was delayed due to crowd trouble. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Not quite right......It wasn't the start, it was either at 3 qtr time or after a goal was scored early in the last qtr. A Leopold supporter on the outer side of St Albans took exception to some of the decisions made by a certain umpire & let him know about it. From what I heard it was no more abusive than any other spectator rant at sub standard officiating (although the bloke did have a booming voice). The said umpire weilding almighty power over the game then called out the Leopold runner & ordered him to get Leopold officials to remove or gag the spectator. It held up play for 2-3 minutes. Quite an abuse of power by the little grey haired man in orange if you ask me !!!

It's Nathan Saunders NOT Nick Sautner. I may sound bias here but interesting to note there is no room for Paul Carson, Scott Faulkner or particularly Adam Morrow from GWSP. It does look a strong side on paper though; well done.

The Dragons, dumped from this years finals series by the Joey's. Similar to Chelsea FC, spend alot of money, but nothing to show for it.

Also, Torquay rolling Ammos. Judging by the score, seemed to do it comfortably.

Bad day for Ammos seniors and reserves both being knocked off.... both having just there 2nd loss for the season, good timing:D

uh-oh are the wheels falling off again at queens park?
they do have a bit of a history of leading all season only to lose in the finals, no point winning all year and not taking home the premiership.

couldnt happen to a better bunch of w***ers either

Dragons: Goes to show that a Team of Champions has nothing on a Champion Team. Exactly what Bell Park was this year. Team of individuals. Many picked them as the best side during pre-seaosn; should be a big post-mortem at Hamlyn Park. No sides in the finals. Bit of catching up to do there.

I think they will be gearing everything towards the Seniors flag assault. I wouldn't be playing any automatic senior player who didn't need the run in the reserves, just to help them get over the line.

Sounds like we have an internet tough guy. Maybe you could head down there and say it to their faces tough guy. Its how they react this week that will count.

suck it up geelong ammos ya punch of arrogant tossbags.
lets hope they both get dumped in straight sets.

Not quite as arrogant as the Torquay supporters down there. Very happy with themselves they were and rightly so, played a lot better on the day. But i feel they may have just played their Grand Final that was the best they could dish up and good on them. But the reality is that Ammos had a shocker and only lost by a few goals. If they can play near their best they should still win the flag. They have a lot of improvement in them i dont think Torquay do. Should be a good couple of weeks.

And before you call Ammos a bunch of arrogant tossbags if you are a Tigers supporter you need a reality check and have a good look at your own club and its supporters.
