Good to see Mick O'Malley back in local footy, although, it'd be better if he was back with us, his home club. He's a top bloke and will push the Joey's boys hard, the should be "fighting" fit next season.

pretty much a done deal with mctaggart at newtown i think whispers, i know he had afew mates there and spoke to someone from newtown the other night who seemed to think james had signed, interesting to see if tom hornsey moves to the gfl

jim just told me before that his ideal club to play for this year is the lethbridge lions

That certainly would be Mctaggart, good pick up for newtown smart footballer, i see they have also picked up doug scott who spent afew years at hawthorn another good recruit, they deffinetly need them after loosing some of the big names they have.

I think thats nearly an understatement. they need quality players desperately.... there under 18's will only provide 1 or 2 players...and they have 2 other youngsters coming back from knee reco's, so it may be a long year for newtown in 08.

It seems that South Barwon always recruit quite well in the off season with big name players (the Corrigan's, Biddiscombe) or talented local players (Westwood). Anyone heard who they are targeting this year?

Good Kid and footballer.. but not the answer wont dominate the GFL.. Kelly Williams and benny Riccardo are the impact players clubs should be hunting..

Royce Vardy and cousin were as good as signed to drysdale on saturday...

until a few locals didnt like "the cut of his jib" and let him know

things were said, got VERY ugly, but Vardy will not be playing for Drysdale this year (even though he lives in Clifton Springs)

a few locals boys have a HARD preseason ahead...

grove have lost one or two handy youngsters, and i think the key to winning a flag will be to play the young guys that are there instead of the older players that were on the park for alot of this year

Kane Purcell played in multiple premierships with North Shore during there golden era with Fop, so thats not really a suprise. In his day, Purcell was an absolute gun, but he'd be mid 30's now atleast surely.

If one is Chris Moreland from Bell Post Hill I hope the other one can play a bit as Chris is a bit inconsistent and should stop reading (or wirting) his own press.
