what players have left Nth Shore from last year and why have they left???

Nicholls,Nolan(Corio) Robertson, Zaperenkov(Amateurs) Matthews, Purcell, Chapman(Drysdale) Llyold( Bendigo) Milligan( Werribee VFL) Ged Brody(Injured season) Shaw(St Josephs) Chubb( St Albans) thats 12 from senior team who finished near the bottom this year. May have missed a couple but they are the certainties from last years senior team and obviously lost coach Keast, picked up no one so it may be a long road ahead for the seagulls, im lead to beleive unhappy with the way the club is headed with coaching appointment and how long it took to appoint a coach, also all are chasing money or success which obviously Nth Shore dont give out or wont have for some time it says something if Chapman and Nicholls are leaving two most loyal servants, North Shore may never recover from this no up and coming juniors no growth population no money lets hope things can get turned around out that way as it is great for the league.

M Dyer and P West from St Mary's are having a meeting with Winchelsea on Monday night. Winchelsea have put in an offer that the boys can't really refuse.....

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but Tim Van Der Klooster is definantely playing at Modewarre next year. Got 5 grand just for signing on. He is all about dollars dont worry about that. Couldnt give a stuff about much else but the coin. Can play though but wont be enough to get Modda to far up the ladder.

how many reserve players under the age of 23 should of got a chance at senior footy but never?

Being realistic you need a mixture of senior players and a blend of young and enthusiastic players, so if you have lost alot of the core senior players you will find it hard to compete against the top teams like the good old swan boys etc . The senior side finished 9th last year??? Whats Bernie Lynch`s coaching experience and who is helping him out???

im not sayin were gonna be a gun side or anythin, im talkin bout the boy's that bust their guts for no reward in previous season's. look out in years 2 come of the unspoken 1's

I hope the club prospers AJ, but as other people have said - things aren't right when long term loyal servants like Chapman, Nicholls and Matthews jump ship, let alone everyone else mentioned.

It does look that way. Going from one ordinary side (Simpson) to another, doesn't display much ambition to win trophies.

Yes, definately dark days ahead. The decline of a club generally is due to a few factors over a couple of years; see the earlier post about not paying market value and expecting players to just come on board. The successful clubs are those that balance the juggling act between cheque book and juniors. St Marys have a strong junior program but probably not just the players that come through, South Barwon certainly do while GWSP have a scattering of talented kids but at this stage don't have strong teams as such. Their best crop of kids for some time have just finished their first season of junior football in Stott, Sells, Connoley, etc and will be better for the run this year.

If you're good enough and apply yourself you should be playing seniors the first or second year out of under 18's. North Shore has always promoted this, so these guys your talking about under the age of 23 should have already been playing if they were any good. Especially in a side that finshed well out of the finals.

there's alot of players that only got a chance through injury's, maybe they'l be there all year and it will boost there confidence for years 2 come!

What is North Shore's spine looking like (FB, CHB, CHF, FF). It seems all 4 have moved on.

Same with the on ball division? Who are the on-ballers?

I did not know that this was the site for the Nth Shore Football Club - lets talk about the teams that are going to be up there in 2008 not down the bottom of the ladder fighting it out for the wooden spoon with teams like St.Albans and Lara!!
