Cronik is still on his mums tit by the sounds of it. Waaaambulance Cronik!
My tips are Calivil by 38 and Richo to get the medal seeings he should have won the league clearly.

WRONG AGAIN DENNIS. Congratulations to Miti, a fine effort ending Calivil's run of 6 premierships in a row.

After a pretty even first 10 minutes, Miti blew Calivil away.

Haythorp played another great finals game.

Great day out at Bridgy, fantastic set up. Thank god it wasn't at Serp, YWC etc...because it would have been the biggest crowd seen in years. There were rows of cars parked on the golf course.

Will be very interesting to see how many of the 9 x 30+ year olds from Calivil will play next year. My guess is that there will be a big clean out and they will give more of the younger players a run.

Congratulations should also be given to Calivil for their golden era and 6 flags in a row which will probably never be beaten. It had to end eventually.

It was not a fantastic setup at Bridgey. Lines for food, drinks, toilets. All bunched in the one area. Lack of foresight and planning evident in a slap happy effort.

Congrats to Miti

I think the long lines could be attributed to one of the biggest crowds in many years. I'll ask you this five fingers, what other grounds could have catered for such a big attendance? It would have been chaos at many of the other grounds. Can't make everyone happy

well done to all the premiership sides, finally someone beat calivil :)

in the 17s marong undefeated all year, closest to loss was 6 and 13 points both against ycw i think,, dominant year.

I thought last years grand final at newbridge was a slap happy effort as well maybe the league needs to have a look at themselves.

The Grand Final should always be played in Bendigo to further boost crowds and income. All clubs can share the profits. The Central Highlands do it near Ballarat and the Lexton Plains go to Learmonth near Ballarat. These leagues are same size places as LVFL and benefit greatly.

As for Marong winning the Premiership, there are a number of boys who are not locals and live in town. This should be remembered as a hollow premiership win. Bridgewater nearly won with only 18 players so Marongs side is not that good.

Fair call on the ground situation mate. I agree the game should be held at a central ground e.g Eaglehawk. Better surface more parking and opportunity for all clubs to cater and take their cut. The toilet/food situation at Bridgy wasn't too flash and yes the league should have a look at it's event management techniques. As for Marong very good win by the best side all year. Good effort by an undermanned and undersized Bridgy (including that 10yo 35kg gorilla in the forward line) pat on the back for having a crack. I disagree with your 'hollow' remarks though. Golden Square is the dominent side in the BFL 3rds this year. They have out of towners )e.g Maiden Gully) and players living in suburbs such as Kangaroo Flat part of their team. If they were to win would that be 'hollow'?

a hollow premiership?????? no such thing. they are so hard to win and for marong to get there undefeated and win it is a credit to every player. that is one of the stupidest things ive ever heard, wake up to yourself. and by the way 20 of the 22 players played junior footy at the club so get youre facts right before saying those sort of things. bridgy were brave, no doubt about that. congrats to all the other winners on the day as well.

Hollow premiership? talking a bit of crap there. So what if there is a number of boys that live in town, the point is marong still won. So what, do you think everyone that plays for Miti seniors is a local, i dont think so, not one senior footballer would live in Miti.

yeah mate bridgey nearly won the premiership with 18 players, becuse they played perimits all year and got to finals and couldnt use them so proves how f**in smart they are. Marong arnt that good? mate they went through the season underfeated and won games with injuries all year. bridgy had a team of champions and marong are a champion team so proves how good bridgwater are ya f**k head.

Yes true, but Marong and YCW were the only sides to have a full under 17 side most of the other teams had younger kids. Anyway congrats to Marong for winning. So will most teams be able to make a side next year?

Congrats to Miti

What a great result, was always going to be tough for the Calivil to hold Haythorpe and Chapman, both played great games. Mitis strength is their unsung guys like McKean, Gill, Ginnavin, Smith and Saunders who week in week out do their bit to compliment the big guns. If Miti keep the core group they could carry on again next year, although as we all know a lot changes in 12 months.
Great stories to come out of the game with especially Ollie Hay (Miti through and through) and Muzza Saunders first premiership for something like 17 years after playing a couple for Bridgey late 80s early 90s.

Congrats to all the winners, it would look like by the size of some of Marongs u17's that they will lose a few for next season due to age?
As for the venue for the grand final, what grand final runs out of beer before the 3rd quarter of the Seniors game? Wouldn't you order enough as it would have got used after the match by their own players. The lines to get food was absolutely ridiculous, you had queue for up to 30 mins to get something from the bbq!!! and as for the netball, if your a parent etc of one the players and you want to take photos of their grand final match, its pretty much impossible as there is a bloody fence in your face making it impossible to get a photo! and also can someone please tell bridgy to change their scoreboard signs, the red on the white background is way too hard to read from the opposite end of the ground.

With the dust hardly settled on the 2009 season, I'll get the ball rolling on the 2010 rumour mill.

I was told over the weekend that Billy Grant would not be coaching Mitiamo next season and in fact he had been in contact with Jeff Brennan about the role next season (with Jeff respectfully declining). I also heard from a Bridgewater stalwart that they believed that Bill had applied for the top job at Bridgy.

Also heard that Graham Abbott had been spoken to about the Calivil coaching job.

yeah marong lose 8 from saturdays game for next year so will still be ok with a few coming up from under 15s at marong.

Well done to Adrian Alford winning P.hills b and f. Any other clubs had there count.

No suprise there...cant belive he didnt poll more in the League count!

Out of interest...how did Luan Marsh fare in his club's B&F?

I think Marong have there count this Sunday.....Aaron Bell would be a favourite, along with Franky and Thommo who both had great seasons again.

You are an absolute F*$K head mate give the kids some credit they are a great young side who didnt lose a game all season. They still done the same thing as every other side out there but were to good for the rest of them. Who cares where there from its got nothing to do with jack shit.

No need to worry Cronik.....I thing most readers on the forum would like to see FlyingDuck take a FlyingF#ck!
Just another of the Marong bashers on here who cant give credit where credit is due.
Well done to coach Nick Patching and his boys on a solid and consistent year.....and dont give us that shit about Bridgey only having 18 players and a couple of underagers....didnt hear anyone complaining when those same 18 played to get them to the Grand Final!

The Grand Final took a gate of $22,000. By my calculations, this would mean between 2200 and 2500 paid to get through the gate. There seemed to be more than 2500 spectators at the game. I think 10% of gate takings goes to the club hosting the final, and the rest goes to the LVFL to be divvied up between clubs.

Dont forget to add all the juniors that get in for free plus player, umpire and trainer passes.
