Cheers.... R all of those blokes u named there 1's players ????

Thorsen played 1's in GV and from all reports is a gun and should dominate the LVFL.:thumbsu: Brophy and White played majority 2's i think but should still be handy recruits. Cam Parker played 1's a North and didnt have the best of seasons in 09 but still should go very well at inglewood. Also is morris Rob Morris? (returning to the club maybe)

if someone can tell jack how the hill's recruiting is going maybe someone else (?) has info on how YCW is shaping reports suggest mick mckern will be bobbing up there to support family and also to bring some dollars

Strathfieldsaye Football & Netball Club, along with the Strathfieldsaye Cricket Club are holding a joint fundraising event for Luke "Milky" Millard.

Luke who is assistant coach to the Under 18 football team and a valued member of the Strathfieldsaye Cricket Club, was accidentally hit by a car on Friday 22nd January 2010.

To assist the Millard family for Milky's recovery there will be a "Italian meal Night" at the Strathfieldsaye Recreation Reserve Clubrooms this Saturday 6th February, commencing at 7pm.

Cost of the night is $15 per head in which you will be supplied with sumptuous Italian food ranging from fine Italian pastas to the favourite spaghetti bolognaise. Tickets are available through committee members of the Footy Club. (visit club's website: www.strathfieldsayefc.vcfl.com.au for committee contact details).

It is also requested that if you are able to provide a prepared meal for the evening please contact Brian Hansen (football/netball) at: brian.hansen@police.vic.gov.au or Scott Hyatt (cricket) at: shyatt@scbnetwork.com.au .

Your supplied meal could be anything from a garlic bread to a specially made pasta dish/casserole.

For those wishing to supply a prepared meal or wanting to attend this important evening, could you please inform Brian or Scott with your intended dish/numbers attending for catering purposes.

All proceeds raised on the night will go towards Luke to assist in his recovery.

This is a night to assist one of Strathfieldsaye's much loved characters and encourage everyone who can, to support the evening. Please spread the word to those who may be interested in attending this occasion.

Stormboy, anyway I could donate some money without attending? Have a 21st on, know Milko well and would love to contribute a bit of coin!

Was going to ask that question also Norfolk

Gents, many thanks for your generosity. Easiest way would be via direct credit into the footy club's bank account. Will get bank account details for you if you wish to make a contribution. Will ensure 100% of funds are forwarded to Milko and family.

Gents, have spoken to the Club treasurer and agrees that easiest way would be to transfer your donation via EFT. Your donation will then be forwarded along with the fundraising night proceeds to Milko.

Bank account details as follows:

BSB: 633-000 (Bgo Bank)
A/C No: 132391087
A/C Name: Strathfieldsaye FNC
EFT Reference: Your BF username

By using your BF user ID as the EFT reference will allow the club to identify who payment has been received from (you may wish to remain annonymous if you would like to do so).

Once again your support for Milko is appreciated !

g. abbott boys at home to ycw that day norfolk it will be round 4
the next week on may 8th it's a road trip to pyramid

you'd rekon that by may 1st, round 4, they had better have had at least one win (n'bridge, mitti and bridgie in the 1st 3 rds.) otherwise it is going to be a long winter for the navy blue boys, norfolk

If it doesnt work out ship em up to Wyche were always looking for kids, had just 9 under 16 players last year borrowed a few under14's and st arnuad send a couple over each week. and still made finals not a bad effort by the young fellas

Due to the overwhelming repsonse, I have been advised that ticket sales for Saturday's night Luke Millard fundraiser is now at capacity.

Anyone still wishing to make a contribution to the fundraiser can still do so via direct credit into the Strath FNC account as previously supplied.

Many thanks to those who have contributed to this fundraiser in some way ! :thumbsu:

This being only my 2nd year at the club, I dont know too much about he junior background, but with Inglewood being one of the bigger towns in the comp I cannot see why we couldnt get the players? I might need to do a bit of research, even sussing out BFL under 18's coaches who may have players who are too old for the Under 16.5's yet aren't gonna really get much of a go at Under 18 level. I know i is easier said than done but forming a relationship with these coaches and perhaps getting those type of players out for a year before giving the BFL Under 18's another crack the year after. This has probably already been tried, I'm unsure, but the benefits are there for everyone.

ge YCW have got a few clearances in already can any of those boys play????? i hope the old wood can go a bit better this year, reading some of the posts not many of u think that they will go much better...

Will inglewood have u\17 this year?

Yeah ive heard they probably will, a few of the locals there are working really hard at getting a side together so thats great, hopefully they do, itd be good for their club. What about the rest of the comp?, every club be right for a 17s team?

i think you will find that last yr they really pushed some of the top sides. they were with calivil bridgy and marong for 3 quarters of footy. narrowly lost to yc and miti (up there) and shouldve nearly won one if not both! their midfield brigade was just a couple short last yr (rotation) these shep recruits will go very well throw thorsen and brophy in the midfield with their current mids and its not a bad lineup.... whats your thoughts norfolk?

You've pretty much nailed it Rooers, we just need a bit more depth, there were blokes playing ones that shouldnt have been. Thats nothing against them as they gave their best, however they just aren't senior standard footballers. With a few more blokes who are actualy handy players coming in and providing much needed depth it should supply us with another 3 or so wins which will put us in finals contention. There is a few other blokes who are sitting on the fence about coming across for a run who will add to thi depth, hopefully we get them too. I'm quietly excited about this year, should be a lot more competitive! We'll see how we go though!:thumbsu:

I'd prefer to wait sorry mate, just don't wanna be seen with egg on my face. They'll be good ones players in the lvfl, that's all, but they're not 100% committed and I don't want to run the risk of turning them off by dropping names. We'll see how we go mate, if we get em all I'll be very happy, a few ruckman and some onballers!!
