Good onya TheKITC, for being brave enough to make some early predictions...it should get some chat going on here.....But..

I think YCW may scrape into finals contention.

Newbridge can't slide too far..with the recruits they're picking up from Kangaroo Flat..!!

Bridgewater didn't have too bad of a season last year.

Dunno about Shaun Filo, I haven't seen him play...but how about giving some credit to a few of the LVFL players that have been about for awhile...there's a few tough ones about.
And Calival to be up and down.....well, on what basis do you make that comment..Is it because they are gonna have a few kids, or because of a new coach, or because better players will only be available sometimes...???...Good luck to Tank...Good bloke, coaching in seniors in LVFL will be a new experience..

I dont believe that the Calival list has loyal men just men who want to be on one of the strongest teams in the comp.

Im pretty sure praccy matches dont mean alot and cant gauge anything from them, last year mitiamo lost by 34 goals to heathcote and look were both teams finshed.... and heard that miti were missing atleast 6 of thier best against cohuna

Bridgewater VS Whychyproof at whychy

Few Bridgy boys having some light banter about the game. Hope they dont get to far ahead of them selfs. Ither going to be a big year or a disapointing one......

i hear that calavil a club who dos'nt spend money have inticed a young bloke from NSW to play with a very good financial offer maybe things have changed with the new coach on board.

Now lets not be nieve in this modern irra. Do you realy think thr likes of Andy Freemantle, Phill Hethrington, Ross Maxted, Nick Balic etc. would have extended their playying days a punishing their bodies for the love of the game. The fee for playing may have been reduced but im sure the wallet was heavyer at the end of the season than the start.

There is no club that doesnt pay, some just more than others.

Mate i can promise you that Calivil would not have spent over $12,000 per year in match payments and coaches payments in the last 3-4 years, and just so you know Andy Freemantle has not been paid a cent the years he hasn't coached!!!!! And i know for a fact Hethrington got his membership paid for each year he was at the club and maybe the odd massage or physio visit. Guess you're just another jealous person of Calivil's success!!!!!!!

You have a point seats but money dos'nt always buy success as pyramid hill has found out in the last couple of years it just inflates the league to a point where it's not sustanable short term fix LONG TIME PAIN some of these clubs have to have a long term look at things commitees come and go but these footy clubs have been here for a 100 years let's hope some wise monkeys take control and this league is still here in another 100 years.

Haha, good point pig skin...I actually just whipped out the calculator myself to work that out. Bit hard to believe they wouldn't have paid more than $750 a game. Cripes...imagine if fev knocked on their door to play, they'd be bankrupt!

Heard Bridgy had a win against Wycheproof today. They were up by about 5 goals at 3 qtr time and won by a couple of goals. Apparently had about 10 senior players out, so not a bad effort.

Any other results?

Inglewood beat Dunolly by a few, not sure by how much as the score continued on from the 2's but it was a few goals with big Trent 'Baloo' Davey snaggin 6! We had about 5 out or so! Luke Attard was dominant around the ground and Adrian 'Mowgli' DaSilva is pushing his case! Bring on round one!

YCW played South Yarra. The 2's won by about 20 goals over an undermanned Sth Yarra. The 1's was closer, I'm not sure who won, but YCW looked good...I think they may have won. YCW had Joey McKern and a few of the other regular 1 players having a kick in the 2's...They'll have much more depth this year...Good to see Matt Keating and Chopper Connelly back. Also good to see a good mix of young and experienced players. It's important to have a big bloke like hammo...definitely helps the midfielders get a dib at the clearances..The younger guys such as Brad Masson, Roo and plugger showed alot of potential.

i heard from the dunolly camp you guys smashed em? by like 15 goals?

bloody hell is it worth any other side showing up

Nothing like a bit of Bridgy banter to get the ball rolling. Bit like the 'hype' surrounding Kyneton in the BFL thread. See how they look under the pressure of the season proper or will they ust be there abouts for another year.

Miti won the 2s by a couple goals on friday night against Elmore, and lost the 1s by 7 or 8, after being close for most of the game, only down by 3 goals at 3/4 time. No Haythorpe or Chapman, which made it quite difficult going forward. Im sure Elmore were missing a few as well.

Turns out some of the guys that didn't play yesterday were Pollock, Catto, East, Diesel, Coggie and Ashman.

Also heard Huntly absolutely smashed Serp? Any truth to this?

wouldnt read too much into - wyche had 7 walk up starts out as well

rhode probably kicked 8 of 11 and wyche refused to change the match up to give young blokes some experience

good hard fought game though, with both sides obviously missing some guns
