Someone on the main mentioned north are working on a new logo,.which is a modernized version of their 90's one
I hope so, the current one is pretty generic and I've always thought the perspective was weird. The 90s one harkens back to their old VFL logo - it seems clubs are finally starting to value some of the heritage there.

rumoured for a return next year, could we be expecting a new logo to come for next season, or is it too late due to registration, etc?
Didn't you only leave it because at the time it was too 'Kangaroos' and you wanted to be more 'North Melbourne'?

Realistically, it was outdated and needed to be changed anyway, but that logo had no reference to North Melbourne, so the shifting priorities led to a change in logo to be more modern, but also include the NMFC that needed to become a greater part of the brand.

Yeah the previous logo was pretty poor, and not that great for a sports club where you want to be able to put it on caps and beanies and polo shirts. It had a really corporate look. The one before that was in the generic VFL shield, so it looked like something that was given to them not something they created themselves.

North's big mistake was ditching the bounding roo, which by now would be extremely iconic. I imagine and hope that the new logo will be a shield with the bounding roo inside. Let's also hope that they go down the Melbourne path of simplicity, rather than the Western Bulldog's path of even more stuffed up perspectives and cartoons.

Huge if true. The bounding roo is such a timeless image. Will be interesting to see how they can bring it back while also having it in a modern look, though.

Probably by adding definition rather than being a sillhouette.
Eg:

the old logo was a ripper, moving away from the bounding kanga just baffling

if they do this right, they could have something that is genuinely iconic and ageless
