Re: Longest serving member of the first class scene without ever seriously challenging for higher ho

Trevor Barsby definately deserves a mention in this thread. 100 shield games and i'd say his name wasn't discussed at an australian selectors meeting once.

Jamie Cox has played more shield games than any other player... would've been close at some points in the mid 90's...

Cameron Borgas and Daniel Harris have played 7-8 seasons of first class cricket without it really being considered. Could have said the same about Graham Manou up until last season.

Since everyone else from the Tasmanian shield side in the 90s has been listed, better add Rod Tucker to the pile. 100 FC games as a player, and now has the chance to qualify as an umpire too :p

It's amazing to think about all these Tasmanian players who didn't push on for higher honours. Whether that was because they weren't really that deserving, the people in the positions were performing well enough to retain their spot or it's an anti-Tasmanian bias, noone will ever know.

But geez, there's some names in there that should've had a baggy green!

They all would have worn the Tassie Baggygreen
