He's as big as wood and Webb. Very good size for a flanker/running player bro.

Not as confident as you regarding Darley Fronk.
Webb all going well will keep him out as will Biggs as his fitness improves.
Darley is not much of a one on one player , and nowhere near as clean in the air as the other two on what I have seen.
Very good user of the footy though . Maybe a wing for him ?

BOG in the VFL so perhaps not too far away. Has performed at AFL level in finals so we know he can play.
I don't know if his AFL games say that about him, but my Biggs views are clear. I need to see more before I put faith in him.

Yep, I am with you I think. Webb and Wood are pretty damn exciting defensive players. I don't see the same in Darley when he plays. He's more in the JJ role for me (but of course a different type of player, but could play the same sort of role if that makes sense?)

Tommy come on mate , if your going to be sensible on these sort of things you can't be a proper BF footy expert like the rest of us :p

Definitely question marks around Darley KH. Webb definitely a different level of talent, and wood is a different type of player. But there's some serious talent there with Darley and he was coming from a long way back when he arrived. Has filled out enormously and I think beveridge will like his style of footy when he's up and going.

I hope we give him some time.

Yep, all three are 186cm. Wood 84kg, Darley 82kg and Webb 80kg (not bad for a kid just turned 19 - he might end up being the most solid of the lot)

Have a good friend who looks after the boys diets -told me Webb has grown from when picked up 186 to now being 189 :)

Also before this draft I told everyone that this kid is a Luke Hodge clone and was smashed for it...

The last time I saw a better 3 games was let me think our number 11 :)

My biggest qualm with Darley is that he doesn't find enough of the ball. Sure, he might use the ball well and all that, but if you're getting 15 touches a game because you're not getting yourself in the right position, what good is being a good kick when you might only be kicking it 10 times a match?
That's where Biggs has the advantage over Darley - he finds the ball a hell of a lot more, and is a good kick who can also play half back. In the 5 games that Darley had last year, he didn't have double digit kicks in any of them.

I don't think Darley actually uses the ball that well. His technique is superb and it's so beautiful to watch, but he doesn't hit targets as much as he should. Last year he had the 22nd-best retention rate at the club (i.e. out of all of the players on the list, we retained disposal from his possessions the 22nd-most) and CD gave him a kick rating of "poor" (I believe that's bottom 10% for his position by definition...not sure though). He's struggled with the increased pressure at AFL level. Not just the stats saying that either - I recall him missing quite a lot of targets he should nail when playing AFL.

Needs to get a solid run at it. I'm not convinced though.

Gee for a little fella Caleb Daniel has some fair cahones, not even at the joint five minutes and he's judging blokes kicking skills;)

Do you know if any other players have grown? I'd love to hear that Caleb Daniel has somehow managed to grow into a 190cm beast.

I believe it, looks taller than 186

Not surprised darleys efficient stats aren't great from last year. A couple of reasons for mine:

1. He regularly takes the most dangerous/difficult option.......which I love. He's not a chip short, backwards and sideways guy. He likes to take the game on and take risks, generally through the middle.

2. He was so off the pace physically last year, he was kinda shagged when he finally got hold of the footy more often than not. Fatigue seriously effects skill level as we know.

The kid has a long way to go and is only an outside chance to "make it" (still not 100% sure what that means.....) in all reality, but there's a lot to like IMO and I hope we keep investing in him.

Bump. Pannalstaroz tells us the Dogs compare Webb to Hodge. Some of us were doing that from early last yr. Many of us have rated him massively since his first practice game.

IMO he can be better than Daniel (who I seriously rate) and McLean. I might have even tipped him for a RS nomination this yr.

We hear the club has been getting him to learn mid, build production, and maybe develop a bit mongrel.

He has now apparently just about won a VFL game off his own boot.

It's time he got picked in the ones - he's done his time.

Bring back the Webb.

Was Outstanding Today!
Deserves to play Seniors off the back of today

It is interesting how they were keeping Webb in the reserves so that he could develop a bit of a campaigner side to his game. Shows how we rate him and what we want out of him.

We tend to forget that De Goey tagged Webb in APS football.

Webb becoming a best 22 player in 12-24 months is a given, but I suspect he'll only appear sparingly on the HB line when he does own his senior spot.
