I think Taberner is a far superior footballer to Jackson currently, so that doesn't interest me at all.
Tabs is injured a lot (hence Treacy should get some opportunities). Rory is also way better than Tabs at it.I don’t necessarily agree and Tabs is always injured, and Tabs can’t ruck, so Rory has to…
YesWould those who don’t want him at all be more comfortable if we kept Lobb as well?
I prefer Lobb's Lurch vibe personally.Yes.
Upgrade on Lobb.
Can transition to a standalone key forward or sole ruck.
Also has a Jesus vibe to him, undoubtedly a man of god.
Brisbane would take that deal this year though. As long as Melbourne don't lose this weekend the best pick we have this year will be #14 - and I expect that will be further diluted with the AFL giving a priority pick to North and Brisbane with a father son (and assuming they trade out their first for value and more points)....
So our pick is going to be #16 at the best. Assuming no more academy, father sons, AFL compensation or concession picks.
If someone offered us picks #16, #17 and #18 for a pick #3 I wouldn't take the deal and we are only looking at two of them moving.
My ideal would be keep Lobb and groom Jackson in more the flexible type of role Blicavs plays. On ball/wing orientated, part time ruck. I'm unconvinced he is a forward.
If we give up Acres, Lobb and Logue for pick 1
It is a tough one. Blicavs was 22 when he debuted and had been attempting to qualify for the Olympics so likely in an elite training environment. The comparisons with Blicavs is starting to annoy me, not you personally but the idea he’s a 200cm utility. Blicavs was a high end endurance runner. I think an Australian representative in the 3km steeple chase. Very few people his height have that elite endurance. Jackson doesn’t. He doesn’t project the same IMO.
Not my idea:Is this a nonsense post or did North Melbourne table this offer?
I don't think the point is ability but player type. It's hard to argue that they won't be different given there are probably only a handful of players in the league with Blicavs endurance. It is a tough one. Blicavs was 22 when he debuted and had been attempting to qualify for the Olympics so likely in an elite training environment.
Jackson had his youth basketball but that likely wasn't as intensive as training for an Olympic games!
If you compare Blicavs debut season to Jackson's current season (at a year younger and 3 years in the AFL) then Jackson has him beat in every category.
Blicavs breakout season was 2015 his 3rd season on Geelong's list at 24 years old.
Therefore elite endurance or not Jackson MAY be better than Blicavs when he is 24 if current trajectory continues.
I think you meant Ivan Drago Vibe.....I prefer Lobb's Lurch vibe personally.
