LVFL - 2011 PRE Season

Congratulations to Bridgewater, Calivil and Marong. Great game by No. 10 of Pyramid (B. Morrison). Good crowd, I wonder how it compared to last years Granny at YCW?

Walsh suspended until 1st of July, way too harsh. He has lost a years coaching income, for verbally abusing the "gods".

The length of this penalty is a joke, especially when this year, players haven't even been sent off for punching somebody.

Does anybody know of penalties for vebally abusing umpires being this harsh?

I'm not saying that AFL is the same level, but if Malthouse criticises the umpires, he wouldn't even get one week suspension, and he has an audience of 1000's.

Your kidding arent you. He was always going to get a harsh penalty considering how much publicity the whole thing got.. I dont know the man and don't have anything to do with YCW but he was always gunna get a huge penalty for it

thats a problem in itself though isn't it,if he did get more coz of the publicity and not actually the incident then that is rubbish. Dunno if that was the case but if so than the Tribunal system needs to be looked at too.

Had to chuckle at Coghlan in the last quarter when the game was over. Thought he'd be a hero and run around sniping and take a few blokes out. When confronted by a skinny kid on the wing just went to ground like a mongrel dog. As is usually the case with snipers they can't fight.

Got to have a look at some LV action on the weekend, firstly I think a Bendigo based GF is much more suited for the league.

But onto the match I wouldn't have thought you Pyramid would have had anything to chuckle about. Thought Dave played well actually laid a couple of the best tackles I've seen all year. We we're mutual in terms of barracking with Staggy kicking around but even he would admit it simply wasn't a contest.

Bridgey were excellent all over, very well drilled and just made a meal of the contest even despite of what seemed to be some very lopsided umpiring. Jase Seipolt has been a handy umpire in Bendigo going back a bit but he was very much on the sluggish side and made some real stinker decisions. Pretty close to a please explain performance I'd reckon. We obviously get the highest ranked Umps in town but get the Umpires in form to the District Comps please.

Couldn't really find many good players for Pyramid, they named Stocky best but that could have been on the generous side as he looked well short of a blow and his skills rarely hit either. A bloke by the name of Tapper I think it is was pretty good in the Backline for them come to think of it. Leigh Davies, Mick Bateman what did you think of their games So You think?

Well done to both sides in the ressies by the way it was a hard fought Grand Final with bodies continually put on the line by both sides. Congrats to Calivil on the win.

Coghlan did play a good game, as they all did just reckon he made himself look like a bit of a goose in that last quarter incident. But the goose has a medal around his neck and that's all that really matters so good luck to him.

Yeh DJ...Just found this on Centralvicfooty website

I'm reliably informed that Pyramid president John Kennedy had a bit to say on Saturday night after the GF regarding coaching moves etc. during the game so someone gave him a touch up.

Good to see that nothing has changed at the Hill, another year, another heap spent and nothing to show for it. When will they get the idea that $$$ alone does not always bring Premierships. Hopefully the drought continues for another 62 years....

Anthony Baker has taken out Bridgewaters B&F by one vote ahead of Adam Auld, Baker only polled in 6 games for the season but managed to win, sensational effort.

Will A.Auld stay at Bridgey next season?

Some pretty clever cookies that get on here and post comments straight form the Central Vic website. Anyone that reads this thread is clearly going to be reading the Central Vic Footy one as well. So unless you have something interesting to write or comment about stop wasting everyone’s time with cut and paste......

No harm in reposting information, some people may not get onto CVF. But then again if it were up to you it would need to be a prerequisite before posting

Hands up who would want to be an 'interim' coach, P.Walsh has been retained as coach of YC, but the Eagles will need a match day coach that is willing to stand aside when the suspension is over. What if the Eagles are undefeated? It seems a little too like the Collingwood plan to me and we all know how that ended. Very interesting to see what is going to happen with this one.

Wouldn't be too much of a stretch for a current player I wouldn't have thought.

Willl be an interesting one. Maybe an opportunity for a young bloke or an assistant to step up and see how they go in the role before fulling committing to a full coaching position in the future???

I wonder how many he will take with him? Could see them come right back to the pack or fall right away depending on departures. Good for the competition though.

I heard 9 have left, some gone with Auld others out to Strath. Any other news around the traps, usually the rumour mills are in full swing this time of year?

Has marong signed a coach as yet?
