Good to choice to go backwards I think because any attempt to move it forward would make it like any other modern open world/crime game. I assume it will revolve around Salieri family too?

I tried 3 and uninstalled it after 20 minutes.

I'm hoping they can improve the game with this installment. Will need a massive improvement for me to buy it.

Same, I feel 3 gets a lot of unfair hate. It was repetitive but the setting, music and story was fantastic imo.

I thought 3 was pretty good all in all. A lot of bloat, but I'm not someone who needs to engage with every piece of content so it didn't really drag it down for me.

The soundtrack and the cars in the game was superb!
The world and time period of Mafia 3 would have been an awesome setting for a GTA game. While I was playing it I kept thinking wish this was a GTA game. Although the game for me was fine and I enjoyed the story, it just didn't have that feel of a Mafia game.

Mafia 2 and 3 are on the PS Store for $12 each. Mafia 1 (remake) is $70 so probably wait for a good sale on that. These games are worth playing.

Speaking of Mafia 3, it was a PS Plus game at one point but when it was included in the Extra collection it overwrote the license. Now it's no longer in the collection it's no longer downloadable without purchase. Apparently you can contact Sony to have the license restored but it's another example of how poo their subscription service really is.

I got the trilogy set couple years ago and really enjoyed all the games. Finished the first two but I stopped during the third, will probably get this when it comes out.
