You don’t think there would be sensitivities around a situation like this? Reasons why they wouldn’t release more details? Family, friends and Maj are the primary concern. Not self-pleasuring morons like yourself. Piss off.

Self pleasuring am I? I’m having a go and statements, how they are made, I’ve even mentioned outside of sports, that it’s a waste of time! If you mistake that for not being concerned for Majak then you’re a moron!

I think you meant pleasuring rather than self-pleasuring...

I sincerely hope you or someone close to you is never involved in a mental or physical health incident, in one that requires privacy, so you can see how utterly unimportant it is to urgently provide information to the general public.

I have, to a lesser extent obviously than majaks, and I don’t wish it on anyone. I’m being very misread! I can spell it all out but it will be a very long post and the attackers would clearly tl,dr it

By all means go for it.

Running from the police? Obviously, coz, you know, he's African and they're all crims.

(Not saying you think this, just that it is being said shows how deeply ingrained racism against Africans is here)

Grain of salt, it was from facebook which is just a cesspool of Darwin nominees at the best of times. I didn't say it or think it, but after seeing the transcript of what was said I actually don't think people will need to speculate. He's a troubled man, hopefully can turn his life around from here

Instead I’ll just ask you to tell me where I’ve been insensitive to Majak in any of my posts or any individual in the situation or any attack at anything other than the use of statements! Then you shou should get it

Was being sincere and giving you a chance to explain yourself, not sure why you've jumped the gun in that manner.

Pretty shocking really.

Is a role model to many.
Seems like he is genuinely liked and respected by all within the industry.
Is built like a god.

Seems to just about have it all from the outside looking in....

Hope he can come through this.

Suggestion for the rational, decent folks here;

Ignore the f***wits in this thread.

Just don't engage with them.

When the full story comes out, history will judge them and make them look way worse than anyone replying here will be capable of.

Majak copped tons of racist abuse from crowds. Now people are using pretty standard racist tropes about this incident in his life.

If You've ever read the posts that go beneath articles on him on Facebook etc, well, you'd be in no doubt.

Aren’t players taught/coached/counselled from day 1 on dealing with media, speaking with media and also taught how to avoid and handle scrutiny. It’s part of the package and in the grand scheme of the thing a bit 1st world problem. The worst I’ve seen is the treatment of Ben cousins, other than that it’s pretty fair game.

I would bet if he jumped the problems will not relate to the media at all, it’s going to be something external and private, family or relationship problems, under the influence of something, I say these things as an example and nothing official. How the media handle and report on the situation from now is a different thing entirely.

Fair points, I still don't think it should be open slather however or fair game to publicly ridicule an individual. Media can be devastatingly influential in getting a point of view across to the general public.

Look at James Hird? Hounded by media relentlessly over the PEDS saga.

When it comes to depression/mental health , small things can be hugely impacting on an individual. The media do go over the top with sports people, sure you can say the money is there and that's the industry , does it make it right?

The recent amount of players coming out publicly with mental health issues probably says its time the media tone down with the cut throat reporting on players just because they are paid professionals.

I see your points as well! All different situations and circumstances, thin lines and egg shells..

Source?

Sad to hear when this sorts of news happen. Sad to hear of an AFL player, but really, sad for it to occur to anyone really.

I hope Majak gets the right physical and emotional supports he needs in order for a quick recovery. I also hope this raises some awareness for those in need of support, please reach out. And for those yet to experience mental illness, please try and understand that it's more common than meets the eye, and it could happen to anyone of us anytime in the future.

Fair to say his playing career is over, don't think there's any coming back from a broken hip.
Depends on the exact nature of the injury. Some hip fractures can be fairly minor if only a section of the femur or pelvis has cracked. A break through the full width of the femur or a smashed socket would be career threatening i would think

Will be very hard for him to come back from this.

I really hope he does but sometimes in these situations it feels like the best thing for him would have not lived.

People will make of that what they will, I mean no disrespect but he will be known as the bloke now who jumped off the Bolte and lived that wouldn't happen if he wasn't in the spotlight.

I have known some people to kill themselves when I was younger I just thought it was selfish and weak, I see it completely different now it's an illness and sometimes it's the only way to make those voices, feelings etc go away.

This might sound strange but as unfortunate an incident this was it might end up being the best thing for Majak. His injuries are thankfully manageable over time, and he now can rally around his support network to finally get the mental treatment he desperately needs.

I guess if it's too difficult for them, they have the option of choosing a different career. No one would harrass them if they worked in a factory for 50k a year.
