what is that?

Something about if a team is a long way behind say 10 goals, that if they kick the next 3 then they are back in the game, its true I guess, kick three in a row and there would be a definite momentum shift, if you believe in momentum shifts that is.

When I realised it was a Ch10 game not a foxtel game, I was saying "Please not Blight, please not Blight please...CRAP!"

Drives me insane!

Fair enough you can say a comment, but can you try and spit it out already! He goes on and on and on about one thing even when its not relevant - and I've noticed his timing of some comments is way off.

Just make the bloody point, when it's relevant then move on!

What is with this bloke? He talks so much garbage that you can just tell that his fellow commentators are thinking "WTF?"...

Some of his gems today (Pies v Eagles) included...

some crap about even numbers being better therefore we need to change the distance for a legal mark from 15 (odd) to 20 (even)

some more garbage about "things that dont change...stay the same"...errr duh?

more crap about nicknames and what you name your dog

5 years contracts (to which Steve Q said "lets talk about that later Malcolm")

I could keep going...

They need to get rid of him.

Obviously, you, like your club have problems understanding what it needs to win premiership and be successful. Little wonder the guy confuses you, he has more premierships than your club.

Worked well last week.

Pies lead by 8 goals at half time, Geelong kick the first 3 goals of the second half and Collingwood win by 86.

I actually like him. He says some strange things that come out of left field, but very regularly he hits the nail on the head. He also makes some interesting observations that other commentators don't tend to pick up on.

The problem with all special comments guys is that their paid to talk and often theres just nothing to talk about. Unlike the other special comments guys who are unimaginative (Robert Walls) or come across as plain morons (Scwarze), Blight actually gives some good special comments. The fact is that of all the special comments guys in the media Blight has probably the best coaching record and and was as good a footballer as any.

I have been a severe critic of Voss's commentary for a fair while but I have to admit he was pretty good in todays game.
Maybe he just appeared better in the reflected light of Blights efforts??
I would prefer to think he has been listening to Bucks and realised he does not have to rave on continually about irrelevant issues just to fill air time.

Anyway, credit where credit is due, he was much better this week.

So if a team is a long way behind but starts kicking goals, they're back in the game? Yeah....didn't exactly need Malcolm to tell me that.

He's a star and great value. Much better than the carbon copy "special" comments people you get these days.

Not to mention bias whiners like Tim Lane.

We need someone like Ray Hudson, who is a yanky commentator. Ill find some of his stuff, seriously over the top but very very funny with what he says.

Its good to have a different opinion ....... Malcolm Blight is different and football needs people like him who ask "why" and say "what if" ......... to improve you always need to be seeing what you can change to be better ........ I don't mind his "why" and "what if" ......... at least he gets people talking about things.

malcolm and robert walls are the best at there craft only the uneducated would dissagree

Oh the irony.

I know some time has elapsed since this was posted but I want to give credit where credit is due. This cracked me up.

On the main topic...put me in the camp that reckons Blight is a crashing bore. He certainly polarises opinions though.

In all seriousness, Michael Voss' inability to correctly pronounce the suffix -'thing' is not only incredibly lazy but also unprofessional. How has no one at Ten pulled him up on this? If I wanted someone to tell me 'somethink' about the game, I'd go and sit in the Collingwood cheer squad. Seriously, proper enunciation is not hard to strive for, is it?

Blight can come up with some very insightful comments at times that make you sit up and listen, yet talk drivel and go off track at other times. I wish he had a bit more consistency. Is still much better than Schwarz, Voss, Watson, Jako and co. in his role as he can add something to the game.
