Sometimes as a supporter, you have to shake the loyalty / defensive mindset, and call it how it is.

Don't try and evade it with attempted humour, Mick will be asked to explain by the AFL after some very poor form.

It was funny but not in a good way. If Malthouse doesn't cringe when he sees that again the Pies are in trouble, because it was embarrassing and he should know better than that.

Buckley must be rubbing his hands together with glee, his time isn't that far away.

Malthouse and his rather poor excuse for a team embarrassed themselves tonight, plain and simple, and Malthouse will have some explaining to do during the week. If my coach acted that feral I would question his ability to lead a group of impressionable kids. Buckley must have been cringing.

FMD, it's a passionate sport and sometimes tempers flair. If you or your team cannot handle it then move on.

Grow a pair.

Hahahahaha.

Bigfooty at its finest.

I really, really, really hope all these moral high-horses aren't the decision makers in society. No one knows what was said. Who could care what was said. It's a game within a game. Good theatre. Game means a fair bit to most involved in it.

And what's more, it must take something pretty serious to get a coach like Mick to respond.

Carry on. Enjoying the laughs here.

I feel sorry for you people that think this is bad.

Passion coming from a coach or a player is not a bad thing.

This is good for the game, it always has been.

I'm a child of the 70's and it freaks me out how sensitive and bland everyone's meant to act these days.

Boring...

words were said, big deal. but it goes to show the intense feelings the clubs have against each other. personally i love it, our game only survives on passion from local leagues upwards:thumbsu:
to be honest it's great for a club like st kilda to start having a serious rivalry with clubs like the pies as it's passion that draws supporters becoming members
the afl will ask for a 'please explain' but i reckon they'll be quite happy with the rivalry forming between the clubs

*edit* +1 just read sometines post, was tryng to say the same thing

Loved the intensity.
Why would anyone have a prob with malthouse hopping in for his chop on the tiprat ?
The dislike and dust ups between these old clubs is legendary..not rivals just simple hatred :thumbsu:
Makes for a good game.

btw...u blokes rooooooooooooooooly sucked man:thumbsu:

It shows that a coach, who should know better, mouthed off at an opposition player a la Kevin Sheedy, nothing more, nothing less.

Passion is yelling at a midget opposition player over nothing ? Yep PASSION. No wonder footy was so shit in the 70s.

Facts. Milne is a little insignificant rat. Licuria was a shit player who once Malthouse is gone will need to look for new employment. Malthouse is a person who sold his own self respect away for money and will hopefully be coaching someone else in 2 years.

Surely the AFL has to investigate this matter. Malthouse and Licuria have brought the game into disrepute at least as much as Sheedy with the Mitchell White incident and much more than the James Hird incident.

For Malthouse to call an opposition player what he did (it can be clearly seen on the replay), then deliberately lie at the presser, just shows that

a) Malthouse is just as feral as his clubs cheersquad
b) Malthouse hasn't the courage to admit what everyone can see he was doing.

Pretty piss poor effort from the Collingwood coaching staff, but i suppose it matched their piss poor on field effort. Really a massive squib job by Collingwood allround last night.

Nice to see Lyon not try to shy away from Malthouses disgraceful behaviour and said the club will investigate.

Hope they lodge a complaint against Malthouse for bringing the game into disrepute.

Then Eddie will have the excuse to sack him and bring in his boyfriend as coach.

Mick Malthouse denies involvement in argy-bargy

"I didn't have words to the Saints' players, I had words to my players to make sure they didn't get involved. Let's get that right from the start," Malthouse said.

I used to think Mickey was borderline.

Now it's clear he hasn't just crossed the border, he's a naturalised, passport carrying citizen.

Mick, just a tip, only the most of brainless Collingwood supporters still believe your shit!

If it wasn't Collingwood the AFL would be handing out 6 figure fines and talking about suspensions. Because it is, he will be hit with a wet lettuce.

Disgraceful bloke that represents a disgraceful organisation well.

Spineless cheap-shots merchants who can talk big but never deliver.

Settle down Jeffy

Settle down Jeffy

Typical comeback when you can't defend the indefensible.

FWIW, no need for me to 'settle down'. I'm as happy as a pig in shit.

St Kilda have yet again exposed Collingwood and Malthouse for what they truly are.

Not as good as St Kilda? Fairly sure we all knew that already. Thanks for exposing it though.

LOL, well, 'we' knew it.

Tens of thousands of off-season posts would prove some of your mates are a little slow on the uptake. :D

I understand Milne gets under the skin of opposition supporters.

But for a Coach and an Assistant to get stuck into an oppostion player.

I just can't believe it.

Haven't seen the footage yet, but apparantley looks like they were some harsh words as well.

Eddie McGuire reckons other teams are scum LOL. Only look as far as the the Coach and Assitant.

If you haven't seen the footage then why comment when you clearly dont know what you are talking about??

Milne was clearly mouthing off, Malthouse has said in his press conference that he was telling his players to stay out of it and not get involved.
Nothing will come of this.

Ahhh, so he was shouting "you've gone effing ape sh*t" to one of his players then?

It must just be the camera angle, but as a completely impartial fan (actually, if anything I've always been a big fan of Lica and am not the biggest fan of Milne) it did look as if Mick and Lica were shouting directly at Milne. I guess there may have been a Magpie player out of camera standing directly behind Milne- he's pretty short so there's a chance Mick was looking a guy behind him straight in the eyes.
