There's a fair bit of talent on the books now, and with the back-of-house stuff on the right track, I'm sure a quality candidate/s is out there.

Yep, we just need to strike gold once with the right manager and we won't be far away competing with the best again. Nobody should let ETH gaslight them into thinking 'this is a process and will take a long time '.

The best managers are also the best coaches. They implement systems that emphasise strengths and at the same time, cover up weaknesses as best as possible. Something that has barely happened for us since the great man retired.

SMH, the top British journos running with ETH will still be managing against Porto and Villa.

INEOS need to stop playing the nice guys.

It’s all good. The players are doing God’s work and being as shit as possible to get ETH sacked.

I can tell you as a port supporter, years of failure (at least eth has won something) don't always mean a coach gets sacked

No point sacking him until they get a replacement ready.

That's fair enough and I can understand that, but at the same time, a huge worry is that this could go on longer than it needs to if he somehow gets results in the short term that keep him clinging onto the job. Same kind of approach was taken with Ole/Jose and we basically sacrificed seasons in doing so.

Oh well, hopefully, they've already begun talks with other prospective managers in the background.

Honestly, I don't think the players have downed tools this time. They are still playing for him, it's just that they look clueless as the overall coaching/tactics aren't working since we have a manager who just isn't up to it.

Plus, most of the squad is his now, and, Rashford doesn't even have the player power card to play anymore as he is shit.

There's a week break after the Villa game, so that might be the time. I've seen enough already, they need to act now.
Either his tactics are so bad or the players are bad. Most think the manager but I'm starting to see the pattern in this club and it's disgusting, first season or two the players are behind the manager, come the third season they hang him out to dry with woeful performances on the pitch and a leak or two out of the dressing room.

It is so easy to blame the manager these days, Eriksen said it best players don't want it. Lol when someone comes out like that against the whole group its clear. Not to let ETH off the hook but again these players no matter who the manager is have to much power and say.

I'd assume ruud for the rest of the season since he has been there since the pre season.
I think its way too big a job for Ruud and we cant give the players anther substitute.. Dream candidate would be Zidane, but not gonna happen.
None of the other obvious choices excite me at all. Southgate was credited for bringing harmony to the England squad so we'll prob get him and Maguire will be 1st choice.

Had this discussion with someone at work about Zidane, he hasn't done any coaching in years, cbf with English, had a RM side that was stacked and no one ever seems to actually want him.

Adidas to fine us £10m every season we don't make champions league which could see us struggle under FFP rules according to several on twitter. With Ten Hag at the helm, we're just throwing cash at Adidas every campaign going forward.
