* A great night last Wednesday. BT and Richo did a great job as MC. Great to have so many of the Richmond faithful there.

* Always a big test the first round - past 3 have been 1 good; two bad. Hopefully we can turn the tables on Carlton Thursday night.

* Great follow up from the night. People who were there putting their hand in their pocket again and others who weren't ringing about info to donate.

* Internally we know the journey we are on but obviously for our fans it's important we come to play and have a good performance.

* Likely to be 10 different players to round 1 last year.

* We are trying to get those flogging out of our system this year which is was why Dimma was so disappointed about the Adelaide game. We tinkered with players and loadings leading into those preseason games so we're expecting a much better effort on Thursday night.

* Never say never about finals but where we are at a lot would have to go our way. We'll be tested if we cop injuries due to our lack of depth being such a young side. Everyone agreed we can have a good year without making the finals.

* A big challenge the first 4 rounds so we want to get off to a good start.

* Just got to get games into the kids. Some will play from round 1 while others may not play like Griffiths until round 6. We want to get games into our young talls such as Astbury and Vickery to support Jack. Need to find another key back and another key forward to help out Jack.

* We love to play Carlton in the season opener. Our greatest rival due to late 60s-early 80s. Last 3 season openers have had crowds over 70k so it's great for our kids to get use to playing in front of such big crowds. Great also for us kids to play 4 strong sides in the first 4 rounds and see how much we have improved.

* Social club window design is one area we aren't inaminate about but it's something we'll look at in time. Right now it's just great for our players to have brand new facilities to train in which they have never had before.

* If Gary could have one legend playing in his prime now then it would be KB. He'd also like Royce Hart combining with Jack up forward.

With thanks to OER

You really should put a link in... OER would have a hundredth of the traffic that BF does and yet the bloke really puts in a great effort to publish as much RFC related media as he can.

Credit where credit is due imo

Would love to put the link, but forum rules prohibit it.

Thanks for the report RT73. Wel done, a good read Cheers
Don't thank me I hijacked it from another forum, couldn't listen and take notes at the time due to dinner.

Whats BF's stance on posts from here being quoted on other forums?

Do they expect a link back in acknowledgment?

Since when?? I always put another forums link in and if you source the information directly from that website.

Unless its a raw link with someone trying to gain visitors to their site it must go in imo. Especially when it's a straight copy and paste job.

Not right imho if that is actually how the rule is meant to be applied rather than how I have always understood and applied it. Hell I think I've edited posts to put in links.

Rules are rules and I don't make them. End of story.

Then you are not only condoning but actively encouraging plagiarism. As for your Nuremberg defense, it's not only pathetic it's laughable. If you were a Richmond player we'd all be telling you to grow a pair.

Guess we need some clarification from higher above. When I was Mod it was always expected that links to other forums were out. You could mention the site but not direct link. With this thread I ensured that I mentioned where the info had come from so I'm not sure why people are upset.

Might be an idea for you to learn the definition of plagarism before gobbing off. The source was credited. There was no plagarism.

plagarism: the wrongful appropriation, close imitation, or purloining and publication, of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions, and the representation of them as one's own original work.

Clarifcation is that links to other forums are not permitted. The source should be given and then it's up to the reader to find that source themselves. Therefore, RT73 did exactly the right thing according to BF rules.
Quoting of a mainstream media article and a link is still mandatory.
However, you are permitted to post your own work and a link is not required.
These are the rules, whether you agree with them or not.

Sorry... and who are you ??

Load of rubbish if that is actually how the rule is meant to be applied rather than how I have always understood and applied it. Hell I think I've edited posts to put in links.

You should be sacked from your BF mod role, dont even know your own rules..... :p:D

Actually you would make an exceptional AFL umpire. :thumbsu:

Doesn't matter who makes up the rules it's a terrible one.

BigFooty are generating ad revenue from other people's work.
It's double standards having links for official news sources and not for information posted on other forums. They should be treated the same.

If the other site also generates income from their ads then BigFooty are effectively stealing their revenue. It needs to be the same rule across the board for ALL sources.

Could you post or PM me these said rules as I still dont think this is cut and dry.
