The club is unequivocally in it's strongest ever position off-the-field.

Record membership.
Financially strong.
Debt free.
New sponsors.
Old sponsors retained.
Central to the Arden Redevelopment.

The board is doing their job well.
No sorry I disagree.

All clubs most likely are experiencing close to record membership.

What does financially “strong” mean? Are we planning on buying a house? We certainly aren’t investing this money into members package s and game day experiences I can tell you that.

All clubs attract sponsors. It’s the AFL!!
Are we attracting more than other clubs? Is their a metric for this?

Debt free yes, but At what cost? The 4 Tasmania game revenues will eventually need to be replaced with other income.

Central to the Arden redevelopment in location only. With respect to the over precinct our involvement is minor. It’s great don’t get me wrong but I think you are overstating the benifit to the club.

I get you are a cheat leader for the board, but people aren’t dumb. You can’t just make these motherhood statements without facts/data.

On field we are horrible and the board has dons responsibility for that.

The board in my opinion is doing ok.

But to say they shouldn’t be challenged is asinine

Imagine if every bloke who's gotten a bit old and a bit bored and a bit irrelevant and needed a hobby took up running for the board rather than golf?

You know shit's getting real when RB makes a comeback.

We all understand that you must have a contact at Board level but you need to stop peddling this crap.

The Board is not 'doing their job well'.

We are a mess of a football club and have been for some while and the Board (and CEO) are responsible for this.

Let's consider your carefully selected criteria (and ignore on field issue for now.)

Record membership - crowd numbers are appalling and lowest for all Melbourne clubs
Financially strong - really? 'Strong'?
Debt free - Selling games to Tasmanian has been the all in play - what is next - we haven't heard boo from the Board on plans to increase the Melbourne fan base
New sponsors. Who and what level - how do we compare to other Melbourne base clubs?
Old sponsors retained. Sponsors have commitments - they can't walk out half way through them.
Central to the Arden Redevelopment. Again - really? Central?

Do you want to start on on field metrics?

If the Board were 'doing their job well' we would not be the laughing stock of the AFL as we are now - so as I said stop peddling this crap.

All clubs most likely are experiencing close to record membership.

The only clubs who have hit a new record for membership in 2022 are; Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood, GWS, Melbourne, NMFC, Port, St Kilda, and the Western Bulldogs. Of those nine clubs, 8 of them would have fan bases who reasonably expected them to make finals this year. For NMFC to set a record membership the year after we won our first ever spoon is incredible.

What does financially “strong” mean? Are we planning on buying a house? We certainly aren’t investing this money into members package s and game day experiences I can tell you that.

"Financially strong" means exactly what it says. We are investing our finances into our club's future - we continue to expand and upgrade the Arden St facilities, we continue to invest more and more money into our football department, we continue to strengthen our development pathways with our own VFL team and our own AFLW/VFLW teams, and we continue to deliver stronger and stronger programs to the community as well (see: The Huddle).

In fact, even though we're a smaller club, we have more self-generated income than St Kilda, Brisbane, GWS, the Gold Coast, and we are about on par with the Western Bulldogs. And we do it all without pokies, meaning we could in theory be much higher on that chart, but we take a socially responsible stand.

How's that for 'data' for you?

Well it’s hard to argue with that. The board should remain as is and without question. Who knows, next year we might even win 2 games of football for the season and the board can then rightly claim that oversaw an increase to our win share by 100%. Not that wining games of football should be a barometer for a football club. The important thing is we are “financially strong”.

Love a good Tas smackdown.

It wasn't really a smackdown. I just think we need to find a way to go forwards, not backwards. People past and present shouldn't feel a sense of entitlement to the board, it is all about what we can bring to make us better. Anyone from the past would need to be able to articulate why they couldn't have done better when they had the opportunity imo.

Covid has been hard on tender touch. :stern look

All the people who literally voted to kill the club think they are now entitled to run it.

Last week just got topped, just extraordinary, brain bending stuff.
