Is Butts, Murray and Keane one too many?
Assuming Murray comes back ok, we should consider trading Butts as there are sides in need of a key defender.

Then keep Borlase as depth.

Also, have Worrell capable of as key defender, but prefer him as 3rd tall.

I would trade him

He’s been good but reckon his stocks are as high as they’ll get

Has his limitations
So you prefer Butts over Keane?

What limitations concern you, given he still learning & developing?

Loved the Melbourne lifestyle and has some really close friends still at Pies.

Wouldn't be surprised, I don't personally rate him.
You don't need him as you have Billy.... & no we won't swap then back.

Not sure if you've watched him much since he came back - and I know there's probably a bit of animosity given he walked out - but by all reports he's improved a lot. He's really good, and pretty much no one here wants to lose him.

Yes, if you're talking about the 22. Murray and Keane are the two KPDs we need, with Worrell pinch-hitting as a third tall as needed and Curtin also around as an option in defence. No room for Butts in there.

Butts is worth keeping around as a decent (and cheap) backup option, assuming he's willing to. I'd keep him over Borlase if he's willing to stay as depth. Otherwise, trade him (we might at least get some crappy 3rd or 4th rounder for him) and keep Borlase.

Edit: I've had a giggle trapped inside me ever since "Cox is on Butts" was said by a commentator on the weekend, and this edit is my attempt to finally get it out.

I couldn't have cared less when he left to go home. I have watched a bit, but in terms of the way we defend, unsure if he'd be good for it.

The fascination of Frampton with Adelaide supporters is very strange.
I can absolutely guarantee you wouldn’t even know his name if he didn’t have one out of the box game for us against the Bulldogs in 2022. Collingwood certainly wouldn’t have gone for him otherwise.

He looked the same Frampton to me in our game against you just gone. Some decent plays, some fumbles and slow as a freight train. Crap one on one.

If you’re going to come on an opposition board and say you don’t rate one of the most improved players in the comp (Keane), maybe don’t throw a barb about Frampton, who we saw a heck of a lot more of than you have.
