Loving Marley's work so far in 2013. Has that great combination of toughness, confidence, decision making, and is really showing some class. Any time he is around the ball I am expecting a 50-50 result at least and more often than not he is winning the contest clearly, whether it be a 1 on 1 or amongst a group of players.

Something I love in a young player. Cant believe how he has come on. Thank god for a small defender so we don't have harry or shawy playing on the zippy forwards

I wonder when the media will finally catch onto how good Marley is!

Probably the most underrated player on our list atm.
Dennis likes him and Matthews seems a fan.

Wash your mouth out...
I think every aspect of his game is better than tooveys.
Don't get me wrong I love Tooves but I just think Marey is becoming a level of elite that Tooves will not reach.
I would actually love to see Marley tried out as an inside mid, he could be very damaging..
But we need him in the back line at the moment.

I agree that Williams could be very damaging in the midfield. Perhaps next year with Toovey back and Sinclair hopefully settled and comfortable in his backline role we will see Williams given some midfield time.

Not valid until Bruce has Marley in his spank bank.
Marley has none of the requisites to ever reside in Bruce's spank bank.
Not from a minority group.
Not a flash-in-the-pan forward.
Does not duck his head.
Not named Selwood.
Not a Hawthorn player.
Not a petite blond, Buddhist or direct decedent of a former rugby league player and have bloods culture.
Not a member of the Amigos (60's gay band?)
Not Adam Goodes.
Not being paid outside the salary cap.
Most importantly does not have a name or nickname which sounds thexy if you groan it in the dark with a lisp.

Yes but his parents named him after Bob Marley, is that enough for Bruce? Plays like the song, Get Up Stand Up.

Not only wash your mouth out! But read Aussie Rules Footy for dummies!
Two different players with different strengths, here we go!
Tooves can play tall or short very few defenders in the league can play that as well as Tooves. Both are agile but for me Tooves looks the better, both are quick, but Marley is very strong in the core and has better acceleration in the first 5 metres. Marley would be a better match up for a Rioli but would be a liability against Darling. Tooves just eats Darling for breakfast but has his problems against Rioli. Had this feeling Williams would take the next step this year, but most of all I am wrapped they both play for the Pies!

I have questioned whether there is room for tooves and marley the same side. I now agree there is.

It is funny how small defenders were one of our supposed weaknesses but now we have tooves, marley, sinkers, shaw and you can possibly add seedsman, although he is less defensive.

Credit to bucks and the coaching staff here as they saw a weakness and worked on it to become a possible strength going forward.

Needs some Rising Star love IMO!

He's come on in leaps and bounds this year and its almost entirely because of his vastly improved disposal efficiency. Since he broke into the line up he's demonstrated a strong ability one on one defensively, but was horrid with ball in hand until the past 8 weeks.

I was on the verge of writing him off it was so poor, but full credit to him he has turned it around magnificently :thumbsu:
