You need to be realistic, we will not be good this season, most of us can see it.
Yet everyone is getting shitty. What did everyone expect? What I cant figure out is the short passing. When we got forward of centre we went quicker and looked good. But we dont have the players in the back half to play this chippy chippy style. At his first presser I remember Nicks saying AFL is a game of mistakes and turnovers and you have to make the opposition pay when they turn it over. I didnt realise he mean he was giving us a game plan where he wants us to turn it over and make the mistakes.

It looks like that because we're rebuilding. It's a bit of a mess. Don't analyse it too closely yet.

NEW ADELAIDE coach Matthew Nicks knows what he wants.

Nicks is adamant he's not taking over with a charter of rebuilding a playing list.

"Not at all," he said.

"Part of the interview process that I went through, which was a lengthy one, was the opportunity for me to see where the club was at.

"My first interview, I knew that (a rebuild) wasn't the case".

So... you might think we're rebuilding, but they don't.

If this is rebuild time... then why the hell would you have a early 30 year old Gibbs who was deplorable most of last year and deplorable in the last marsh game still given a guernsey infront of some very talented youth?...

I didnt watch the entire game... most of the first half and bits here and there of the second... but id love to know how many times bryce, without any pressure on him, kicked it straight to an opponent.. i saw atleast three occasions in that first half. And two of those turnovers resulted in suns goals.

Playing Gibbs alone lost us that game before we even start looking at the other **** ups..

Who Was it in those last five minutes when we were 3 points behind, and streaming forward with the ball, went To kick it to lynch and basically kicked it straight to two suns players?.. that horrid turnover resulted in a suns goal and sealed the suns win.

The skills today from some of our players wasnt even sanfl level standard.. especially from our more experienced..

Lets hope it this was just some post preseason rust being shook from them..

lol now people are on the nicks hate train. he wasnt my pick as coach but come on, he hasnt even coached a game yet.

I cant even bump my "Ive lost my faith in Nicks " thread as its been locked. :drunk:

Crows are implementing the Law of Diminishing Marginal Returns.

Invest more games into Gibbs, in order to generate even worse output by him.

So basically he, and the club, are ****ing delusional... brilliant!

Sloane's sole leadership didn't get off to a great start today if judged on his performance. That howler kick under little pressure put paid to a certain goal after a great chain of play just about capped it off.
Yeah wasn’t his best game, but I find it hard to judge the elite players in the pre season matches. If he’s doing that in round one I’ll be worried.

Cheers... Was watching on my phone and couldnt quite make out who it was..

The delivery into our forward line from the likes of mcrouch, lynch and a couple of others either went straight onto the chest of a suns player, to a two or three on one to the suns favour or to our smallest player in murphy vs a tall suns player.

Pretty much exactly what happened the entire 2019 season..

Well there you go.

The David (Sun) King show...... He started with a flurry, gassed out at half time. picked up late in the last quarter and came home with a rush.
A typical night at the King household?????......

Lynch probably had our best I50 for the game when he laced out Murphy running into an open goal. The lead up play to Lynch getting it was probably our best for the day too.

Nicks is not a miracle worker. We are coming off a very low base. Pyke and Burton and by extension our so called Chairman left this club in a terrible state. Gonna take some time to right the ship. I only hope Nicks doesn't hold back on making change if seen as too much change too quick by some. No point playing the likes of Gibbs as not up to it. Get games into the future. There were some good signs from today but also plenty to work on. Nicks would have learnt plenty from today. Let's see how he responds.

GC certainly made us pay in the first qtr and a half with our sloppy turnovers. They killed us on the fast break several times, two resulting in goals and another that should have been a goal...and probably more times than I've mentioned.
