Gee Great Western are on the ball!!! Someone must have been sitting next to the fax machine at midnight last night waiting to press the button!

Well at least that is official and the first confirmed move in the league. Leaves a hole for Brook to replace.

yea luke treacy great player kicked 100 in thirds in cmfl. played with him of late and is only 20 but great future ahead of him. paying $1.10 to win league goal kicking. have to be on 500 +

Interesting statement there. The fact that 2 guys kicked 100 for Harcourt says to me that there is some serious oposition should one of them become a major focal point.

I would suggest Stone and Smith from Harcourt would challenge strongly. Not sure who many other forwards this year will get close to 100. I think Talbots goals will be evenly spread so doubt any of our guys will get 100.

Agreed. Although for $500+ you would want 100 goals in this league.

agreed, for someone to get paid that much they have to be a genuine match winner, no doubt about it would not even consider to pay that type of money otherwise. he must be of a fair size and build then to be that productive, would want to hope he can handle the physical stuff cos coming into a new league with that reputation he is sure to be targeted

yeh but it has never worried him before, was talking to lukey the other day and he said he had been hitting the gym all summer, could see the results too he's added at least 5-7 ks to his frame. Only thing that you'd have to worry about with that is whether he loses any of his pace and agility

Calm down boys this bloke is not a full forward. This may be a case of a few so called mates talking a fair bit of S H I T. Stoney is still odds on for the goal kicking.

Other news Newstead started training last nite at the pool. Their oval is green but still too hard. They are looking into getting a bore from across the river.

Oliver is coach, Trethowan Assistant.

I have heard Pedretti and Shane Tung are retiring. Christmas is off to maine. Fair dent in the big man stocks there. Ramsey staying tho.

Tunny was only a shadow on his former self last year and his retirement was expected. I will believe Porky has retired at the end of the year as he seems to retire every year and keep coming back although towards the end of this year there were signs that age were finally catching up to him. Any reason why Dan Christmas is leaving? Ramsey staying will help them. Perhaps a return to the middle of the pack this year for the Steaders.

Why the move to Brook?? How big is he?

sorry boys i may have a little carried away with my earlier description of lt, nothing to rave on about simply a case of taking the piss..the story is that he is simply looking to play football with a few uni friends without so much travel and clock on to some local birds

Probably true mate but don't discount Willsy. He would more than likely fill the FF possie I would suspect. He would have to have one of the best sets of hands I've seen and hardly misses the big sticks. If the runners can get it forward to him I could see him giving the 100 goals a nudge...

can anyone tell me if tony bellenger is coaching avoca and who he has taken with him? what sort of side are they and can he turn them into genuine premiership contenders?

Completely agree Shamui but I just think that Talbots forward line this year will not be reliant on one or two and that the goals will be shared around a bit too much for any one player to kick that many. He is certainly capable of kicking 100 in a good side.

Is this fair dinkum Veronica? Gee I wont be sad to see Balshaw go... Quite possibly the most annoying footballer to grace the MCDFL in the last 5 years. Blake I think was reported earlier. These players will put a hole in Harcourts title defence this year.

Just following up on reading all the posted threads Men. This guy Treacy so called going to brook, somebody is pulling your legs. I think Sanders fit all year, would be easy replace Field, and probably make brook less predictable for opposition sides. Wills Yes can crack the ton, class hands and feet he has. Interesting developments at Harcourt so called players leaving. Friend of mine was speaking to prickles on weekend and he knows nothing about the Thomsons going to Maine, so could be all hogwash. But Yes he is trying to get players to come back to Maine from there. Waterson the old Steaders coach before Oliver is coaching Maldon
