So its different for you to Wonker?? Excellent, was starting to think I was going crazy! Yeah I couldn't find Lextons Plains or a couple of others! Its crap, but I guess if the site keeps getting bigger it will need to be organised better like this.
No Loddon Valley league either, Heard today that Ben Heathcock is moving west King.

Yeah he is Wonker that has been on the cards for a while. He is a bricky and is following the cash which he'd be mad not to do. Wouldn't surprise if he is back before footy season finished depending on work etc. Will be a loss for our side with his strength and size but hopefully we can replace him.
will definately be a loss, not only was he great in the backline, but was a fantastic motivator and clubman, really loved the physical stuff and you could always count on him looking after you. great bloke!!!!

Not enough traffic according to the sticky at the top of the threads. Fair enough, but tucking it away and making it tough to find will not increase it's traffic.

Trouble with a capital T.
Exits of Crameri and Clarkson will leave massive holes in their arsenal. Ash Noonan going will also cause problems.
Chadwick and Aston have been great for the club but seem to be slowing down.
Talk on the other threads is that a few other players are having a look at other clubs.
I'd tip them to take out the spoon. Flat is on the way up with some decent recruiting and North City is going to be too rich a club to stay at the bottom for long.
They couldn't recruit anyone as they have no money and seem to be going backward. I'd like to be proven wrong, but my money says they go winless.
They wouldn't make the five in the CHFL and they wouldn't be able to win the LPFL or our league in 2007.

I have a few mates who are heavily involved with North City. They are cashed up to the max. Thus far this year they have lost a few and haven't picked up many but they have the money to chase players if need be. Expect them to improve this year if they have a better run with injuries and they gain more experience.
What is the underlying issue at Maryborough? They have been on the slippery slope for a few years now.....

I would say trying to buy a flag in 03 & 04 was the major problem.
In 03 the team was mostly locals and they finished the season 2nd on the ladder. Nev then brought in his 'Super Team' in 04 and the likes of Batson, Mortlock, Clint and Pig Ross, Brendon Lloyd, and others went off to other clubs. Nev's 'Super Team' fell appart on a weekly basis with Tranter and Bond retiring half way through the year, no depth after the champion recruits turned up and the locals left, and the club continued to slide.
In 2005 the 'Super Team' recruits left, as did the coach, and many of the younger locals went to clubs where they would actually enjoy their football.

Thanks for that Thoroughbred. So is Massina generally accepted as the main driving force behind the slide? I have a lot of respect for the few boys in there that have remained loyal to Burra. Is there any reason why others are not going back?

I wouldn't put the blame completely on Massina's shoulders. Any committee that gives a coach more money to spend than they club has got has got to ultimately take the blame.
If I was a coach, and a club said you can spend 100k, I would spend 100k.
Guys like MJ and co would probably get a little bit of cash in the various district leagues and it is a credit to them for staying at Maryborough.
There list of reasons people wouldn't go back there is too long to put in a post.

Trentham put another 2 clearances in yesterday. Gee they must be spending some coin but I guess they had to to keep their club alive! They seem to be going well!

The 2 leaving creek aren't super players although Trevena Taylor has come up through the juniors and has been there all his life and was turning into a decent senior footballer. If players like that are leaving then there must be major problems there I would think.

I played in that league a while back and I don't remember any of those names though.
well from all reports earlier in the thread these kids will prob be between 18-22 won't they, they prob wont be all stars but at least they will all know each other and build a better atmoshpere around the club. if there young though they should be quick which will be a positive.
i think they have a few older player coming back to the club. Hayden Evans, Tim White, Micheal Moore,Mick Tadd, Xavier Keighran, Joe Edwards and Greg White.
if this is true they will be playing finals i think. BUT what is the point of playing finals when you have Harcourt in this league????

Getting numbers around the club is a good start. As long as they aren't paying money for guys that should not be paid. When clubs get desperate, they tend to shell out the coin for those that aren't worth it.
