I think we have been a bit harsh on Masten lately. I think it was because his heat map didn't do him justice. I just received his in-game GPS tracking map and his running patterns seem much more clear now...

The club should release one soon. Wouldnt think it would go past a minute and a half. maybe if he kicked more than 2 goals, it might have gone for longer.
The bite will take up around 25 secs.

Then its the same question as always, how do we fit Masten in?

Based on team such as:

Hurn Mckenzie Butler/Ellis/Nelson
Wellingham Schofield Sheppard
Jetta Priddis Gaff
Lecras Mcgovern Darling
Hill Kennedy Cripps
NN Shuey Yeo

That leaves our interchange:

Lycett, Sheed, Redden, ????

That last spot is Masten or Duggan. Some have suggested Hill might come out (I personally don't agree) but apart from that there is not many options to fit Masten in.
I see what you are saying but based on your theory all these players would need to be available every single week.

And we all know that that won't be the case.

Top 25 always seen to have a way of working their way into the team on a weekly basis.

Someone should do a 2015 highlight reel of Masten...shouldn't take long.
been re watching a couple of games against Port and Richmond He does just as many crap things as good . he isnt that quick gets beaten to the ball a lot or gets caught a lot . No where near as bad as Selwood but now the Microscope or magnifying glass whatever is on Masten . I guess a chain being as strong as its weakest link , this is what we focus on .

So Masten ends up as depth. Which is what I have been saying all along.

If Masten becomes depth like Rosa this year he will bolt, clubs like GC would be a good destination for him for us to snag some talent back off them.

We talking about Masten as trade currency now? In that case, I take back all previous comments of mine about him and...

Masten is like the central cog(*1) of any midfield. He not only racks up lots of possessions but he is damaging(*2) with every touch. He runs a lot and puts immense pressure on the opposition, so much so that he doesn't need to tackle them. You won't see him rack up big inside 50 numbers because he is always drawing 2 or 3 opponents out to him providing one of our other mids with plenty of space to receive a short handball/kick and then deliver inside 50 with minimal pressure instead. When the game is in the balance it is not unusual for Masten to get in the middle of it. Once again not racking up clearance or stoppage numbers but that's only because he is blocking(*3) for our other mids.

In the forward line he is a gun(*4), deliberating missing most of his shots on goal so we can force the opposition to have to kick out (either from the goal square or the boundary line) and can set up our pressure to keep it locked in our forward 50. Some argue why not just score the goal the first time, but Masten is a football genius(*5) and knows you only need to score 6 behinds to make up one goal and this way you don't need to make the long walk back to the centre square.

It would be emotional(*6) to see Masten get traded to another club but he would certainly have even greater impact for another club.

*1 Like when you disassemble and then try to reassemble a small motor and have a left over cog that you have no idea what its purpose is.
*2 Damaging may mean against West Coast's interests.
*3 Getting in their way
*4 Admittedly one of those really unreliable old style powdered guns that regularly misfire
*5 According only to some delusional BF fanatics.
*6 Possibly joy if we could screw some other club to acquire someone really good instead

Cant believe its not butter

Can't believe it's the off season

cant believe scooter was.
Yes true, although he was a Vice Captain and up until the last season or two was expected to be one of our very best players. Reckon we did ok by letting him go, lost a fringe player that we were obviously overpaying and traded in (likely) better players - win win.
