I will admit that I am jumping the gun but...

I just don't get that same feeling about Masten that I did about Cousins, Kerr or Judd. Granted, he is a project player but he has shown not shown me anything to indicate that he will be a future superstar. Yes, a better than average midfielder, but not a superstar.

I will gladly be proven wrong

He's pretty small.

I think a couple of pre-seasons might make a big difference.

He prob wont be a top 3 player in the compo but he will be a star, this is only his 8th game give the boy a chance to play, he has done some good things. I really like Wilkes, Davis and Houlans game,

His hands have been fantastic all year, he is so clean and just pounces on it, and always stays on his feet. Hes pretty special, and will just get better and better when he gets some body mass.

He has some work to do - there's no reason he can't be among the top in the comp within a few years.

Look at how we developed Priddis - and he was older than masten as well. I totally doubt many could have forseen Priddis' massive improvement.

Patience is the key word here, you are certainly jumping the gun.

That's not really true.

Kerr was one of the front-runners for the Rising Star Award in his debut season.

I think he got pipped by Koschitzke.

Yeah as I remember correctly Kerr was one of the few positives for us in that year as I remember no Eagles made the AA team.

The AFL wanted the Saints to win something so they gave the award to the shit.

Yes you are jumping the gun. But geez, you'd think that he'd wipe the vegemite off his chin before he plays ! We don't want to know what you had on your toast this morning Chris !:p

Actually, Cousins was in the All-Aussie team in 2001, Kerr's debut season.

2000 is the only year we haven't been represented.

Oh, and Cummings was robbed of a spot in 1999 after winning the Coleman. Just one reason I hate Gerard Healy.

you're jumping the gun. He will be a great player. With regards to masten v palmer, it will be like cable v walker - depends who you support as to who you think is better. Lets's see in 5 years

I gotta mention that pre-draft I read somewhere the Masten is the type to stick out because a lot of his best work is done inside with deft handballs and clean gathers and that shit. Hopefully in a few years he develops some dash but even if he doesn't I wouldn't be disapointed if he develops as expected.
