Yeah I was mixed up a bit, it was the final against Melbourne in 89.

Geelong then met Melbourne in the semifinals. The previous week, Essendon had assigned "taggers" to Geelong's midfielders, Paul Couch andMark Bairstow. This move worked to great effect, nullifying both. Melbourne coach John Northey did the same. However, his move was considered so predictable by Malcolm Blight that he benched both Couch and Bairstow for the first quarter, throwing Melbourne's plans into disarray. Mark Harvey 2010 - sends the freo reserves to tassie in round 21 and gets done by 160 odd. play hawks 2 weeks later full stregth and wins.
Clarko 2008 - CLuster.
Clarko 2008 rd 17 - Hodge to back flank.
Gold Coast list managers - Throwing everything at Ablett, got an absolute bargain.

Kicking into the wind - played a highly defensive game, Ross Lyon style, and played along the boundary line with short kicks denying the dogs possession for as long as possible. Even at the expense of the blues kicking a goal themselves.
