Had my first look at it this morning.

Don't reckon it's too bad.

The movement to the stumps knocking off the bail is fairly regulation for a keeper - and it's quite likely he didn't feel contact with the bail.

He would have looked down and seen the bail on the ground - and thought hey - there's a chance here.

so true, but to walk down calling for the replay, pleading with the captain too call for the replay?

both haddin and prior are so stupid and clueless behind the stumps that it's entirely possible they had no idea what they'd done. you only have to cast your mind back to countless drops and missed stumpings, own batting dismissals (and reviews if you like) this series to see that when it comes to matters of game awareness they are all at sea.

Haddin's was irrelevant because the NZ batsman would have been bowled anyway.

(Yes i'm aware if the keeper's gloves are in front of the stumps it's a no-ball, but any batsman who misses the ball and the ball hits the stumps deserves to be out, no-ball or not.)

if that's the case then prior's is irrelevant as well, depending on how much semantics are at play. the ball hit johnson's stumps. or, if we looked at hawkeye supposing prior had his gloves in front of the stumps like haddin, we'd be all remarking on how hawkeye is tracking the ball to the stumps... but as it turned out the bail didn't come off.

They showed a replay of that with snicko, which showed a sound after passing the bat. Anyone paying attention wouldve noticed the strap of the pad sticking out a little. Cricketers know from a young age (or used to) to keep them tucked away, since it sounds like a little edge.

Its certainly not as if he called the replay for nothing.
