Well a Scout at the Club said he is GOING NOWHERE

Scouts have nothing at all to do with contract talks.
They are there to go and watch football of all ages, in all leagues, all over the country and SCOUT for players of interest.
How do I know???
My mate is a scout for the Pies, and my friends dad is a scout for Port Adelaide.

The Scout actually knows Scharenberg, rusty.

He said he was likely to stay after settling down here with his Melbourne born girlfriend.

This was echoed by a recent newspaper article and then Shaz himself said that he is wanting to stay.

I am sure the Adelaide clubs are pressing, but nothing abnormal to worry about IMHO. A lot of jumping at shadows in here.

Reminds me a lot what was Happening with Broomhead last year

I didn't realise his missus is a Melbourne girl. I assumed she had moved over from SA with him.

This makes me feel a bit better.

We all fill our dacks each year about someone leaving. They usually don't.

If they do, we get De Goey, Crisp and Greenwood out of it. Or save $700k salary cap space that would have been wasted on a bad attitude with a bad haircut.

Really? How quickly we forget the likes of Thomas, Beams and Wellingham...

Pretty sure the bad attitude and bad haircut was referring to Thomas, so that's 1.

In all seriousness though, a lot of people are jittery after the departures of the last few years. It would be nice if we could finally have an offseason with a high profile signing rather than a high profile departure...

Shaw O'Brien Dawes Davis?
Shaw Lumumba and Dawes were pushed rather than leaving on their terms, so I'd put them in a different category. Davis was over a decade ago. Not sure he's really relevant in our current situation regarding player departures.

I meant Leon Davis. All Australian the previous year that we wanted to keep and he decided to leave us.

Ah, that Davis. You mean the one who told the club that 2011 would be his last season, changed his mind at the last minute, then got the shits when we could only offer him a pittance because we had allocated all our cap space for 2012 already?

Not sure he's really relevant either given the circumstances he left under.

Um complete opposite actually. Pretty sure Leon made it clear he wanted to play but we couldn't fit him with our salary cap at the time. Of all our exits from the last few years (except Beams) he is the only one that i really wanted to stay for another year or two... But the fact no other club offered him a contract (although he only wanted to play for us or in perth) means that the rest of the AFL agreed with our take on it.

Haven't forgotten anyone, I just dont lose sleep over what-ifs.

I referenced Beams and Thomas directly, by the way.

Wellingham I wasn't upset to lose.

Was at the game against Melbourne last week (back over on holidays) and thought Scharenberg acquitted himself well on debut, seemed to deal with the step up OK. Just good to see him getting games and great that he was able to come back well off the foot / knee issues.

So you are saying that we not only drafted a mummy's boy already pining for the warmth of her bosom, but a guy who is also a social misfit! What on earth did Hine and his cohorts have in mind when they made their 2013 selections?! To think that we could have drafted McCarthy!

In retrospect I would have rathered Cripps.
