*EDIT* Sorry, I couldn't find the other thread at first - feel free to merge!

Maurice Rioli Jr is eligible to become a Richmond player this upcoming off-season. There's been some conjecture about where he will end up, but he's a lifelong Tigers supporter so no doubt he'll be pulling on the yellow and black.

I've been writing about Maurice ever since I coached him in the U12s at St Marys in Darwin. A great kid, and after watching his development over the years, I feel he can become a great footballer too.

I've created a highlight video of some of his performances this season at Premier League level in the NTFL.

At the end there he makes Marlion's GF pirouette look quite bland in comparison, looks super quick and knows how to tackle which will suit the Richmond way.

Loves to tackle and they seem to stick!

Will be interest to see how the lack of football currently impacts his ranking and our decision on if we take him (I think we will)

wow wee

is there some destiny in this ?

even just a few short years back it Punt Rd would have been the wrong time and place

the pressure for him to succeed and the hopes he would lead us out of the football wilderness would have been too great

but now we have the resources and we have the culture for him to grow
and most importantly we have the list depth that he will also have time

He will have his early hit outs in a VFL side that will have a liberal sprinkling of AFL premiership players , as has been the case recently
He will potentially line up along side the likes of Ross , Naish , Turner , Stack , Dow etc
He wont be able to make them look like chumps , he will have to work hard and play well to get praise
hopefully that will stop him getting ahead of himself , just think for a second , how many back slappers has he had in his short life time
telling him what a mega star he will become

Its a great time to be a Tigers supporter :)

He looks on par if not better than Maurice Sr in those highlights.

Each time I see footage of him he reminds me more & more of MR Snr....just imagining 2 Rioli's in the forward line or middle is DELICIOUS....The closing speed of both is redonkulous 🤩
